Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

Whilst they do have money, they don’t have that much money to be able to purchase the Broncos. Not the majority share that News Ltd currently own anyways, maybe minority share ie what BXBX have.

Just my 2 cents.
That's my point.

The wealth of these QRL clubs is being massively overstated.

And even if they could they would essentially have to liquidate every asset they have just to get close to a purchase price.

It isnt a popular opinion but I always put up the option of renaming the Titans to South Queensland Titans and gradually moving games to Suncorp. The GC is a fail.
If that was to happen, may as well get Brisbane Easts Tigers on board as part-owner.

They could even do a soft rebrand - using that "South Queensland Titans" name, but changing to something like the teal, orange & white colours that the original Gold Coast Dolphins bid had - as a nod to both their original bid identity AND the Brisbane Easts Tigers link-up.

Or just keep titans and allow them to grow in city which will eventually have population of over 1 million

Fair point - but what I was saying was that IF (BIG if) the option was to move the Titans to Brisbane, then getting Brisbane Easts on board could be a way there that solves the problem of getting that club into the NRL AND leaving an expansion option there for the west/Ipswich.

You're right that it'd create another problem though - leaving the GC with no team when that area is growing.

To be honest, as far as branding/location goes, they probably just need to stay put & feature more gold on their jerseys - relocating, changing their whole colourset or mascot would just feed into the cycle of previous GC teams chopping and changing all the time.

giants all the way. almost makes you think if titans was actually a very subtle nod to giants name that not many picked up on.

Their jerseys were pretty cool, but the black n grey didn't quite represent the glitzy Gold Coast to me. They couldn't quite pull off the Charlotte Hornets purple n teal colours either though. I think it's cos they had the gold (numbers) and grey as well.

This hoodie is sick:

I don’t think they are that clever tbh. I like the titans moniker btw. It’s a pity they haven’t performed better as they are an important part of the games long term strategy in SE Qld
