We used ports when I started school. I presume the word derives from portable or maybe that’s the other way around.

The funniest one was when in Year 10 I moved from Newcastle to QLD and found high school kids calling recess and lunch, little lunch and big lunch, I knew that day I had arrived in another world. I mean seriously you are close to being old enough to leave school and you are still calling recess little lunch f**king LITTLE LUNCH.

never once used the term recess in my 17 years at school.

These days my kids call them first break and second break

Ports- luggage carrying device

Popper- small carboard box with juice inside it

Red Seal chips- the best god damn potato chip money could buy. Their tomato sauce flavoured ones were the shizz.

Togs- something you wear swimming

You said you drank XXXX in Central Queensland and chose to when there other options available.

Why didn't you drink another brand when your initial post on the subject implied you didn't like XXXX.

I don’t like it.

It’s what everyone else I knew where I lived drank so when I started I did as well.
It was when I moved slightly west that the folk I met drank other beer then in Brisbane I’m not sure I know anyone that does.

There are a lot more options now though.

On the very odd occasion I have a beer I look for stone and wood. Wouldn’t drink a free xxxx these days :)
