Hey guys, i'm just wondering how Cameron Cullen has been going? He's been offered a contract from Parra starting next year but I haven't seen much of him. Cheers.

I watched him play the other week, if you guys get him he'll be good for you, he played pretty well at hooker from what I saw. He's the sort of player the Raiders should be looking at, 100 times better than butters.

Solid player. Good cardio, solid tackling, good dummy half service. Never flashy, but solid. Would be a good fill in for Peats until he's back, IMO.

Cullen is one of my favourite players in the ISC.

Reminds me a bit of Ben Hunt actually, not the most skillful player but he reads a game really well, can pick out the gaps and will play for the full 80.

If he was a bit bigger, I'm sure he'd factor more into our calculation on the bench but size is a problem and he is often exposed in defence. If he can fix that part, he could be a really good addition to your depth.

Not for the rest of this year mate which is a bummer. Two years starting next. I'm a little doubtful as he is 3rd string at your club at the moment but he is only young.

I wouldn't worry about the third string too much, Granville could easily be playing NRL at a different club.

Given also the strength of the juniors (and Milford) coming through in the halves I think the Broncos have made the right decision letting him go, won't be required at hooker or halves at the Broncos.

I am shocked we still have Granville playing in QLD cup as a backup hooker, he is a great player.

That's because McCullough is regarded by Griffin as an 80 minute player.

It would seem that if Granville came on and played like an X-Men with the powers of Steve Walters/Cameron Smith/Segeraro/Benny Elias/Isaac Luke ... well Griffin wouldn't give me a spot on the bench because McCullough is an "80 minute player".

And of course developing players with potential isn't in Griffin's coaching manual.

I like Granville but he's behind a player who's being fashioned into an 80 minute specialist and is playing some of the best football of his career as a result.

I think it's inevitable that he ends up signing elsewhere which is a shame but you can't keep a player like him around even if we gave him a cameo role.

Granville will most likely end up at the cowboys if he leaves the Broncos. Paul Green is a big fan of his. That will leave us with no real option in the 9 if something happens to Macca.

There's a few guys in the ISC & NYC who could do a fine job there.

Granville is much more useful on our bench than say a Lowrie or a Stagg. That's the saddest part about his situation. I know Lowrie has been playing some decent football but Granville was killing teams when he was coming on 60 minutes in.

"Inevitable" ... interesting word.

It means something is predetermined - bound to happen.

There is a very good reason that it may be "inevitable", and it ain't fate or without reason. If Glanville leaves, there will be a very good reason, predetermined by the actions or inactions of others.

Or it's as simple as the Broncos not being big enough to field two quality hookers like McCullough and Granville.

Agree to an extent.

Lowrie nor Stagg are the type of players who should be in anybody's top 17. AS 18th men they're fine because they can slot into the side and do a job without being a liability but they're just not skillful enough to be carried week in week out.

However, I don't think having a cameo player like Granville is the right option either.

I've already listed my 'perfect world' options in another thread, but I'd like to see the other spot given to a player like Lee or one of the NYC players who is deserving. Being perfectly honest, I thought Hook chose the wrong player to blood in Molo. That seemed like one of those ideas he had at the start of the season and he stuck to it, hell or high water even though Molo hasn't progressed like I thought he would.

Griffin very much operates like that, ignoring the bleeding obvious to stick by his guns. Pity that it's often a pea-shooter.

"Brisbane Broncos officials are so confident they will snare Daly Cherry-Evans on a $1.1 million per annum deal from 2016 that they haven't even opened negotiations with incumbent halfback Ben Hunt."

Similar article in the SMH. Should the Broncos put faith in the continual development of Hunt, or go for broke making a play for Cherry-Evans?

Cherry-Evans is a proven champion and the number 1 half in the game IMO. How we can afford him though with all our salary cap dramas beats me - surely we'd have to shed talent. We have that much money vested in underperforming players (Kennedy + Barba eating up 1 mill in our cap collectively), where the hell is this money going to come from? I imagine we'd be resigned to losing McGuire + Hunt, but both of them are currently only on 200k +/- 50k contracts a season.

Personally, I had faith in a premiership with a Hunt/Milford partnership alongside our current crop.

Hoffman is probably another player we'd shed, but as it stands, I don't think those three are currently worth 1.1 mill together.
