And the securing of his services, that is one of my “7 good deeds of Benji Marshall.”

‘Twas an absolute masterstroke.

Benji belted our rivals for his signature into next season.

One of the greatest signings of our era.

It took great agility, persuasion, guile and nuance. Benji said and did everything perfectly on this difficult and far fetched mission.

A solid duff of the fedora for Benji.

And for added Benji points, he got through to Terrell for almost the whole season. 80 minutes. The options that gives us, should make us all blush!

Thank you Benji for this wonderful gift.

The 7 good deeds of Benji # 2.

It is well known that in person and amongst friends, Benji is pretty down to earth.

He’s known for being brought up pretty well, is generally considerate of others and has good manners.

There are many examples of Benji, cleaning up sheds, buying people coffee and carrying it to them.

This gentle side of him, is equally balanced by his deep respect, understanding and promotion of islander cultures.

That is a valuable asset as our pacific neighbours are the most prolific exporters of rugby league players per head of population on planet earth.

Benji judges people on merit, not on colour or culture etc.

Unfortunately, there are other coaches and others in the game who are not as respectful as Benji in this area.

Actually, I think he over used him, while he didn't complain and apparently wanted to stay on, they should have give him rest in periods during the game, to keep him energised, IMO.

So the question is now what his plans are to inject some footy into the boys.

I think we have to be patient and do things at pace. Sounds contradictory I know but we don't have to score every time we cross over the halfway line.
It's like a game of chess without having time to think... it's instinctual footy.
Most people call it the grind.
The modern king of MMA, without doubt is Islam Makhachev. More often than not he wins after working out his oponent and gets them to act the way he wants them to so he can defeat them.
For footy, it's targeting a weakness with constant raids, trying to fold the edges or spreading them to make holes and when that happens we instinctively know how to exploit it.
This is why training is important, especially having the fwds doing their role and the spine doing theirs.
Quick play the balls etc etc.
Nothing different, we've played this way since we were juniors, just not so intense 😁

No casualties.

I mentioned it in the Penrith forum, but not much of a response. I guess a lot of them don’t think about their home anymore.

I guess once you taste success, it’s easy to forget where you came from.

Not our smuggy friends who visit here. Not an arrogant bone in their bodies.

The good deeds of Benji Marshall # 3

Well, it’s the fall back to his game at peak Benji.

I don’t think it’s too much of an exaggeration to say he changed the game as we know it.

One of the few players in history to be able to pass the ball to himself, to step like he was on a tightrope and a passing game that brought a lump to the throat. A full suite. Players can’t do those things today, I can assure you.

So powerful was his game, that Galvos refrain that he didn’t think he had anything to learn from Benji was one of the most profoundly stupid utterances ever to issue from a player in the entire history of the game. Just too dumb to play for the WT, not fit to lick Benjis shoelaces.

I’m sure many of us took this lying attack on Benji as a deep personal insult. I know I did. And this young tool remains wholly unforgiven.

Say what you want about Benji, but by the crikey, attacking or denigrating his peak game when he played -is sick, befuddled, deranged and utter nonsense.

Benji was indeed a “once in a generation player.”

Benji was one of those players who destroyed whole sides and brought the game to its knees.

We are all much better off for him playing rugby league.

What is our current offer Tiger?

I have no idea but reading between the lines we don't want to pay the amount if we take up the option because it's too high. We want a long term contract on more reasonable dollars.
