Bulldogs Lack of Sportmanship

I was appalled at the amount of cheap shots and general poor conduct by the Bulldogs during their 39 - 32 loss to the Leeds Rhinos. In so many tackles there were knees to the back forearms in the face.

I couldn't believe when Luke Patton shoved Richard Mathers' face in the turf after he scored a try, resulting in a bloody nose.

Nor was I impressed with S.B. Williams starting fights during and after the game when the players were shaking hands.

They really are dirty dogs!

Nice baiting there mate. Let's see if you get a bite today cause you won't get one from me.

I personally thought both sides had a few cheap shots and the ref let them get away with it so they continued throughout the match. If the ref cracked down on both teams early then none of this would have happened.

I agree it was a poor sportsmanship at the end from the Dogs. And also from Gould with his arrogant comments after the game... Leeds won and they deserved to do it. Good on them!!!!!!!!

Disagree. They happened on both sides, Bailey was one of the worst cheap shot merchants. But the dogs didn't do themselves any credit by going on with it.

That's right nqboy, while I am not denying The Dogs had cheap shots, Leeds had plenty of their own as well. It was that sort of game cause Hampstead didn't crack down on it.

The Bulldogs did finish the game as sore losers. Matua throwing punches on the last tackle just shows that the frustration of coming so close but not close enough upset the dogs.
Gould was saying that the dogs would of won by 40 with a full strength side.
There is plenty of ifs and buts and the only thing i know is that Leeds are world club champions. The dogs were missing a few players but did have the majority of there grand final team in the side so no excuses.

A Majority? It's different if those injuries are key players.

Yep I thought Leeds were actually worse than the Dogs in the cheap shot department, especially in the tackle on the ground. Sonny Bill was outstanding as usual

Yes they are key players, but so are Mason, Ryan, O'Meley and Sherwin.

That said, I am not using an excuse at all. Leeds were better and that's the way it goes.

I didn't notice Bailey as much, but Matuia was just ridiculous, especially early on in the game. The thing with Patten wasn't much really, I don't think it was intentional.

I'm just sick of Phil Gould when he talks on these matches, he just goes on and on about how Australian teams will always win these games by 50 or 60. I don't care how much he knows about the game, he gets plain irritating. I don't mind him when he does other stuff, so I guess it is the early mornings.

i said go bailey once, get over it mate.

he is a thug, he hit someone with a glass over the head, of course hes a thug.

but the dogs were doing it too, it wasnt one sided. i was going for leeds, bailey would smash Matuia.

but i think both should jave been sent for spells all the same.
