Bulldogs the Real Deal?

The problem with the bulldogs is that they don’t have any real attacking spark and rely on their forwards to win matches. There is nothing wrong with this as a tactic but invariably it leads to close matches more often than not that can become a bit of a lottery. They won 3 matches in a row by a single point; it’s hard to say they were better than the opposition in any of those matches. Had they lost 1, 2 or even 3 of those they would be outside the 8 now. They could still make the top 4 but I can’t see them hanging with the other top teams when it matters.

I have no love or hate for the dogs, so no bias.

Awesome forward pack. With their halves the bulldogs are the real deal. Without them they suck. Simple.

Funny how things turnaround last year dogs were helped into the finals by a favorable origin schedule and now this year they have been knocked off the top due to having to play at least 3 games without their halves. Pre season I didn't rate the dogs a chance of making the finals but they have looked consistent and competitive for most of the season. They are now starting to struggle with many players unavailable, judiciary has been kind to them but injuries and origin has not, I can see them bouncing back after origin and being a chance of top4

Not really, because our halves will be buggered 2 days after origin (should they play), the rest of our team will be coming off a short 5 day turn around, and the Raiders will be fresh off a bye.

And how many Raiders are playing origin?

Got the excuses lined up and ready to go.....

No excuses, just facts. Our depth is being severely tested and we're struggling.

We'll be back, no doubt.

That 'line of scrimage' play for the first try was inovative and possibly un-defenable dogs looking good to run away from the Raiders in the second half of tonites game

I really don't rate many of the teams at the top of the ladder at the moment, I still think someone like Melbourne will come home strong and sides like Penrith will fall off the map like the tits did.

Dogs are ok but ok won't take them all the way.

It's a really, really poor quality competition, let's not kid ourselves. The standard of rugby league being played this year is bog ordinary.

If anyone is to win the comp like they deserve it they are going to have to beat the Dogs convincingly, Hasler is just struggling with a situation he's not accustomed to. Unfortunately they'll be there barring injuries

Only for raiders fans

But Yeh some games have been crap. But the new rules have brought the teams closer together as teams like tigers eels a panthers can use their little fast men more effectively and teams like dogs rabbits and roosters with huge forward packs don't dominate as much as they have in the past

Funny how the standard of the football is poor when your team is losing isn't it?

I don't know who these sides like Penrith are, but how do you think Penrith themselves will go? I wait with baited breath.

And the same with Melbourne, who are the sides like them?
