So who is paying the bills? No, that wouldn't work. If Peta came home next week after the restriction, he'd have to self-isolate - and then he couldn't be at his child's birth. And before anyone says it, a home birth couldn't work with a midwife either.
Wayne can say that, but Wayne is a selfish merkin who cares about no one but Wayne. These players have families. You cannot ask 16 teams to relocate to an area and completely leave their lives behind. They didn't sign up for that. It's not feasible. It's nothing like a tour to England, tours to England are scheduled. And not 24 rounds long.
Just call the thing off. Yes, it's completely less than ideal financially. But there's thousands of industries going through the same shit right now. Find a way to recoup that at the other end - play a few games in a shorter period of time, a longer finals series, whatever it is. But now is not the time to f**k about.
they might as well now. They can’t bring additional squad members over unless they’re prepared to isolate on arrival for two weeks so logistically it’s gonna be near impossible. Play the Canberra game and come home.
Anyway...
So I'm right in saying all our side is still in Australia, minus Herbert and Hiku? So if they're staying for the Raiders game, they're likely staying for the week after to play Manly, right? These guys are therefore there three weeks at least, then they're either staying longer or our season halts because no team can travel and play within a two-week stretch.
We should've come home today. There's going to be unnecessary hardship for families and this is all inconsequential anyway, because there's no way the season can continue. Sounds like Greenberg and his team are just making a desperate grab for as much money as they can while they still can.
Upon thinking about it, silver lining, club bankrupt in 4-6 weeks, all contracts void.
Lol where's the multi like option?
Everyone got there rations (or Rashuns, both are good) ready to go?
Gotten pretty silly here with people rushing into supermarkets as if they're not going to restock this week. I'll just mosey into the stores on Wednesday and do my shopping once the panic buyers have cleared out.
Media has done a terrible job of communicating why these restrictions are being put in place.
The problem with there being so much information available in the world is it leads to just as much misinformation.
Have a look at what is happening in Italy and also Spain now, in Italy their health system
has broken down, stroke and trauma patients are not being treated, they have put an upper age limit on the people to treat, above this age limit patients are left to die, because they are overwhelmed. Doctors and nurses are having to make awful decisions. This is not the flu.
That is why these restrictions are happening, to try and avoid that happening here and in Australia.
In regards to the supermarket thing, I think the people fighting over the toilet rolls is idiotic, that doesn't seem to be happening in NZ.Why are you quoting me? Your response has zero iota to do with what I posted in regards to people going crazy in supermarkets over the weekend.
Bingo, the whole reason the government is worried is the health system failure. I just sometimes wonder are you dammed if you do (economic catastrophe) and dammed if you don't (deaths and health system failure).Have a look at what is happening in Italy and also Spain now, in Italy their health system

Agree... if they can slow it and we get a degree oh herd immunity then the economy is central and that’s what they are messing up
Xena is a treasure that deserves to be preserved.

Yes that is true, there is a bit of that going on, people on Trademe selling 4 hand sanitisers for $50, masks for $100 (sorry that should be trying to sell for those prices). My work is having difficulty getting some stuff, because the wholesalers etc have asked are you going to be selling that on Trademe.I heard some Pak ‘n Saves (Papamoa for one) have started limiting quantities as people were starting to come in buying up quantities. Probably trademe speculators.

If we are spending the salary cap (9.5 million) that's just under $183k per week. Then add in, coaching staff, admin, support staff, rent, power, insurance, amenities etc $400-500k a week????doesn’t the new owner have pretty deep pockets? Doubt he’ll go bankrupt. More likely that the NRL itself will I reckon.
