F**K 'gladbach! They ruined an 80/1 multi I had going, and they were one of the 'safer' ones on the multi. they've had a terrible finish to the season and I'm glad they're gonna miss out on a European spot...

Guaranteed UCL spot is what I meant, but couldn't articulate it whilst in my fit of rage...

They were well on track for top 3 not so long ago and Schalke have dropped a lot of points at the same time too...

That means only relegation is not settled going into the final matchday.

Koln has a 2 point break on Hertha and host Bayern. Hertha are at home to Hoffenheim. Of course whoever finishes higher still has to face a two-legged playoff against probably Dusseldorf or St Pauli. Hope Hertha stay up.

Also Tonearm if I'm reading your sig picture correctly, did Neuer join Schalke's membership group as a 5 year old?

What a crazy last few minutes of the season!

Koln go down after losing 4-1 at home to Bayern and Hertha won against Hoffenheim to qualify for the relegation play-off. Fantastisch!

Bundesliga II is looking pretty interesting at HT, here are the 3 competing for the playoff spot;

3. Fortuna Dusseldorf........61 (+29)
4. Paderborn...................61 (+14)
5. St Pauli......................59 (+20)

HT scores;

St. Pauli 2-0 Paderborn
Fortuna D. 2-2 MSV Duisburg - incredible, 4 goals in 27 min, surely Dussledorf won't choke at the final hurdle (plus Duisburg had a man sent off)...

While I admire them for their hooligan movement, the truth is they didn't deserve to come up. I've been following the results most of the season (mostly to see how Eintracht Frankfurt were going) and St Pauli really had some stupid losses, matches they should have won. So, unfortunately winning 5-0 on the last day is like doing nothing all year then cramming for an exam the night before. Serves them right.

So Hertha v Dusseldorf. Rukavytsa v Kruse. First leg in Berlin Thursday night with the return Tuesday week.

Obviously I'd like Hertha to stay up. Plus Ruka gets more gametime than Kruse so it'll be great for Australian football if he continues to get exposure to top flight football.

So close for the thieving gymnasts as well. Hopefully they're relegated to 3.Liga next season.

Why are all your teams' local rivals either scabs or thieves?

How long ago was the BL title wrapped up? Weeks?

Looking like the PL is the only major league with the title still up for grabs. Four teams fighting for the last two CL spots and three teams in danger for the last relegation spot.

Might not be as tight after the top 2 but still fights going on in other spots that matter.

I'm not a PL fanboy or anything like that, thought i'd just point it out.

Sorry to disappoint you all but Ligue 1 trumps all the major European leagues when it comes to title races and relegation this season.

Montpellier, PSG, and LOSC all still in it with 3 rounds left, whilst at the other end there's currently just a 4 point gap between 14th and 20th.

But its not a major league and no one cares about French football unless your team is picking up a cheap player.

Therefore the EPL is the most competitive major top flight league. - OFFICIAL!! :D

Wow Montpellier are up there? how much chance are they? They aren't usually up there are they?

Nup. It's been a major surprise - they were only promoted 3 seasons ago. It would be their first ever title.

With 2 games left, it's Montpellier on 76, PSG with 73, and Lille on 71. Montpellier play Lille this Sunday.

And down the other end, the table looks like this:

Nice 38
Caen 38
Ajaccio 37
Sochaux 36
-
Brest 35
Dijon 35
Auxerre 34

No league in Europe this season still had all 7 bottom teams playing for survival going into the 2 last rounds.

And Wireman if it's not a major league, why is the current third place team in the PL filled with former Ligue 1 players? All becuase French clubs can't match PL wages because the league is strictly regulated financially, does not mean it's a 'minor' league.

Yeah it's been good. It'd be good to see Montpellier trump the Commerzverein Paris. Ligue 1 has always been good to watch though, lots of good young talent on show before the capitalist league in England throws the cheque book at them.

Actually that is exactly why its a minor league.
