Burgers

Cliffhanger

Recently started eating meat again and am rediscovering the awesomeness of burgers. I don't know what it is about grilled beef, grilled onions, grilled tomato, beetroot, lettuce etc in a sandwich that is so awesome, but why question it, hey?

Anyway everybody seems to have a different opinion on how burgers oughta be so let's discuss. How do people put together their burgers?

Personally as a health nut I try and make my burgers healthy, so I start with some buergen bread or a wholemeal bun with the inside taken out to make room and to get rid of extra carbs, then I get a lean cut of beef, sauce or relish, then add grilled onions, if I'm putting in a slice of cheese it has to go right above the onions so it melts a little, tomato over cheese, beetroot and lettuce right up the top.

No beetroot, cant stand it cause if its on anything all i can taste is beetroot. Meat must be on the bottom of the burger.

Home made beats anything you can buy especially from the likes of Hungrys and Macas

Can't beat a decent portuguese chicken burger, those things are addictive as f**k.

Any half-decent takeaway shop will do a solid hamburger-with-the-lot-no-beetroot (seriously, beetrot is the lowest food... )

Grill'd is awesome

Best burger I ever had was at Chillis in Waikiki.

half pound of beef, deep-fried onion rings, lettuce, tomato, and maple-syrup dipped bacon.

Unbelievably good

Paul's hamburgers at sylvania

FTW

Went there for the first time last year but ended up giving it a miss because there was a line twenty metres long filtering out onto the street.

Gotta go back some time on a quieter day.

Oh and the O'Le Burger from O'Le with extra Prego sauce gets my vote. When I'm trying to eat healthy and go to the gym, I give myself one meal off a week to have whatever I want to blow off some steam. The O'Le Burger gets the nod every time.

Chilli sauce all the way...I eat these at least twice a week

Had Oportos for the first time last week.. Nothing will beat a double BLT with avocado. A works burger from the local take away goes close, though.

Paul's are the most overrated burgers going around, they're your average take away shop hamburger. Better than most local spots but places like Burgerlicious at Newtown kicks the crap out of them.

Besides, make your own. Put a cup of jalapeños on the party while you're cooking, cover it in habanero sauce and cayenne sauce, cheese, onion whatever else and voila you have a burger from hell rip off. Enjoy hours of the toilet

Burgers from the Fish and Chip show definatly shit on the chains.

But I agree with the notion of the ones you make yourself.

Ahh, you're eating meat again.

You have just become 100% hotter and smarter.

Grill'd are far and away the best fast food burgers

Homemade burgers are awesome cos you can do whatever you want. A personal favourite is lamb mince, spiced with cumin and coriander seeds and some mint and coriander leaves, beetroot, lettuce, tomato, red onion, roast capsicum, harissa and either yoghurt or hommus on a turkish roll

Grill'd do a pretty mean lamb burger. Anyone who doesn't like beetroot on their burger is unostrayan in my opinion
