I think defenses are better nowadays than in the past.

again you prove you have nfi, all well and good to say defences have improved without also acknowledging attack has improved at a far greater degree to blatantly try and prove a point

Yeah, that's what I meant, CJ. The change from 5 to 10 in '94 saw a significant rise in the number of tries and points scored per game.

It's kinda the same as the whole 3/4 point try thing. You've whinged about Joey and Hazem, CJ, but what about the fact that Mick Cronin played when tries were worth only 3 points? He also played under the 5 metre rule.

So how should we then view the Crow vs the likes of Taylor, Johns and el Masri considering the latter group played under a 10 metre, 4 point try system?

Your delivery is as obnoxious as your logic is half-baked.

Quite an achievement.

Brett Kenny 110
Luke Burt 93
Steve Ella 92
Eric Grothe 78
Ray Price 78
Mick Cronin 75
Eric Grothe Jnr 59
nathan Hindmarsh 57
Mitchell Wallace 57
Neville Glover 54
Peter Sterling 48

Just for symmetry, wouldn't it be good to see Eric Jnr end up with 78 tries. Also for Hindy to get level with Pricey would be deserved.

As for Luke Burt, i'd love to see him break the record this year. That would mean he would have scored what, 18 tries in at least 5 weeks. Shouldn't lose too many games if that happens.... Just a thought....

Jnr, if he hangs around, should end up overtaking his old man.

Hindy/Price, however...with 21 separating them and Hindy having ~3 years to go...interesting to say the least.

Hindy's normally good for 7 or 8 tries a year. It's surprising that given this is his best season playing in attack for years, he's only managed the single try.

There were rumours in RLW that club officials have told Burt to shop around the UK if he wants for next year as we need to free salary cap space. Really hope we keep him though he's a great clubman and a very handy player, even as a utility he'd serve us well next season. Also there was another very good feature article and interview about him in the same magazine so for those that are interested might be worth getting a copy as it sums him up down to a tee.

I thought Burt was very good again on saturday night. That little grubber to score his first was fantastic.

Burt is a legend! Although you wouldn't believe it with some of the crap you read on here about him. There are stacks of posters on here who think Lowrie can't play either. Really know their footy.

I don't think anyone could seriously suggest Burt is better then Bert except for at kicking but if he beats the record good on him & I'll be there to cheer him on.

Luke has had an up & down career, there has been times when he has been outstanding & times he has been fairly poor which I think is why he has his fans & detractors because some people focus on certain moments of his career. One thing I will give him even when his form was poor I don't think it was ever through a lack of trying which is more then I can say for some footballers.

I fully agree with this post & with HJ's mention of the 5 metre rule. I can only imagine how many tries Zip Zip would have scored with a 10 metre rule & a injury free career.....

I hope he doesn't break it. He's an imposter. Brett Kenny is a legend & Luke Burt is far from it. Only reason he's been loyal is that he's never received an offer from another club. Love to see Jarryd Hayne break the record in time as he will be a club legend. In fact he'd never get 100 if i was the coach.

F**king tool. Burt has stayed here because he loves the club and is intensely loyal to Parramatta. If he takes the record, he deserves it. You are just a f**king wanker bashing one of the nicest blokes in Rugby League.
