Not only that, they might get more actual NRL games there than they would normally as "cowboys" have a brand new stadium, as they wont bother now, so you can still be a cowboys supporter and live in cairns, drive 4 hours south and watch your team play, absolutely nobody is stopping you, and you can watch this new franchise play a few games there in your home town, see them train in your local area, aswell as see them play in p.n.g on TV, can even see the cowboys live in cairns as an away game and as trials too, as they did against the dolphins a few weeks back... either way cairns is the closest Australian town to base a franchise that they can send to png for home games, i personally dont agree with the samoa, tonga, pasifika angle of it, i think if the aus govt is involved it should only be to garner favor with p.n.g, and have that team representing that far north qld/torres strait/png area anything else is just being disingenuous to the Pacific Islands... they can set up a similar team in NZ, maybe around Hamilton for a side like that, like RU has, but do it better, thus creating a NZ derby
