Dude looks like Lou Reed if you ask me.

Maybe he is trying a change of career after that abortion of an album with Metallica.

Everytime the roosters sign a player there is an outrage and an explosion of cheating and salary cap rorting allegations.

Look at their squad, they are not the super star, international and state of origin overloaded squad they were in the early 2000's.

There is a lot of glass housing going on here.

Always has been.

I very much doubt this reported $800k (where is this figure being pulled from by the media, out of interest...) is all coming from us, there would have to be 3rd party deals propping that up

Remembering that this is the paper that continues to flaunt a 500K figure per year for Sandow, I highly doubt 800K is the real figure. Even if it is, Parramatta are allegedly paying Hoppa the same when he comes back; the salary of both is rather inconsequential given the expected boost in the salary cap.
This is a victory for the NRL in a way that it will create a lot of media attention for Sydney....might have been better for the NRL if he went West but that is merely bias.
If he stays fit he will be great.
And don't believe the salary figure.

The irony is delicious. Love it when little brother gets all defensive when someone brings up valid criticisms of your team.

How can the Bondi mob be "little brother" to the likes of Homebush Phonies when they have competed for more seasons, play on the same side of town as the area they represent, are not owned by a foreigner and don't have a drawing of a bumhole on the front of their 2012 jersey ?

If you pricks didn't steal our players

Can't blame a few blokes for wanting to improve themselves.
Even the ones who went to Manly stepped up in the world.

FMD, I just have a feeling it'll end up as a disaster for the comp.
Can you guys have a massively successful, do or die, last round of the home and away season for the 3rd year in a row ?
Would that be a disaster ?

Purtz was snapped up by Bradford......poor buggers dont know what they are in for.

 Surprised we didn't get him, we got Matt Elliot didn't we?

The man has had a negative influence on Rugby League and I'm not appreciating this latest episode. A bit old-school myself, and don't appreciate this Gen Y 'it's all about me' rubbish.

He really belongs in the UK on some crappy reality TV show with Peter Andre or Germaine Greer such is the level of his inanity.

Surely all this is a beatup to promote his latest fight, it would be straight out of the Mundine/Nasser handbook. And Roosters fans shouldn't be so quick to defend him, he'll only have a detrimental impact on your club.

Fact: AFL don't want this to happen. It will create a media circus which has already started before it's even out of the rumour mill. If $BW returns it will have everyone talking and the GWS will drown in the rugby league frenzy that it will create.

I don't even need to speculate whether he will suceed on-field because it doesn't really matter. What matters is the hype it produces for the code and the boost it will bring to our TV-rights bid.

Excellent point.

As much as I dislike the bloke and don't want him back, it will send their attempt to foist another team onto Sydney even deeper into the background.

Every cloud has a silver lining.
