If Hindy gets cited dump him, put him in the eels game, then return him, QLD style.

Actually they can't. It's too late. When QLD did it with Tuqiri, they didn't select him for the match, named the winger as TBA which made Lote eligable for the Broncos game that weekend. The Blues have already named Hindy meaning he can't play this weekend and if suspended for 1 match, he will miss origin 2.

SImpson is there on form, might sound a tad biased but his form this season has been brilliant. Yesterday against the competition yardstick he made 40 tackles, only 1 missed tackle and made 14 hit ups for 140m.
Ryan is there on last year's form, and denying NSW an impact forward (Tupou)
I also question the selection of Anasta. Barrett plays his best football as a ball runner with a ball plyer next to him, hence why he's always had a fruitful combination with Johns, but Anasta is not a playmaker, probably shouldn't even be a 5/8th at club level, 2 try assists in 12 games suggests he's not going to provide much ammunition for the outside backs hence Barrett might need to play a lone hand.

Basically we have a team of forwards who all like to play in the back row and run the ball out wide - who is playing up the guts? Just Bailey and Ryles....

That's my biggest sticking point, Ricky is again expecting the Blues 2 front rowers to cover QLD's 3 or 4.

I disagree with the NSW selectors but hope to christ they can pull it off...................the thought of a QLD series sweep :(

NSW bench again is poor.
Expect NSW to be down about 10-0 to start the game. Its not suprise really..they have 5 dragons in the team and the dragons are known as a team that give up a big lead before the 20min mark.

Baffling. I don't mind the selection of Anasta as I think he's a good player. He put on dozens of tries last year for the Dogs with sharp as tack cutout passes to Ryan and Tonga on the left. Only problem is, as Wayne Bennett notably said this weekend, NSW don't have a problem in the halves. Kimmorley is an excellent choice at halfback and he can feel pretty much robbed.

The NSW selectors have really just lost the plot this year. I said a while back that NSW would miss O'Meley more than we'd miss Webcke, looks like I was right. I'm really starting to get sick of players that wear themselves out on the field and make themselves a liability on two feet in defense rewarded for playing like that. Don't get me wrong, I think Fitzgibbon and Hindmarsh are great athletes and second rowers, but I f**king hate the way they play. I might be speaking as an amateur by comparison but if one of my second rowers couldn't mark up because he was on his haunches dry wretching after 25 minutes because he's completely overdone it, I'd be absolutely furious. Those two don't give a f**k about the teams they play for and only care about getting good numbers in the stats boxes every week.

QLD won't let them back into the game next week. Ricky Stuart's will be lucky to keep his job as NSW coach if he keeps this sh*t up.

Watmough was useless in Origin 1. No, he wasn't on his Pat Malone, but at least Menzies and Ryan have done enough in their careers to earn a second chance.

Barrat, likewise, has done the job for us in the past. So, if you are going to replace Brett Kimmiorley, and the options include Andrew Johns, Matt Orford, Craig Gower, Brent Sherwin or even Brett Finch, you would think that you'd have enough halfbacks to choose from!

As was stated before, we lack a decent in form prop. Still, if our stocks are simply Ryles and Bailey, we are in trouble. Yes, we miss O'Meley. Joel Clinton put his hand up yesterday for starters. There are options.

Eric Grothe has done enough to jag a wing spot as well.

Then again, all we need is a kicking game. All QLD have is willing forwards - and they have lost their main yards man.

You are a prize dickhead. if your side had players that would play their guts out for their jumper, rather than collecting as many as they could - like bloody Thorn, maybe you wouldn't have to break the rules of Origin to find decent ones.

Yeah, you'd much rather a backrower who is breathing easily while your team gets flogged.

Clinton wasn't all that good yesterday. Certainly not good enough to be picked for Origin anyway.

That could be the most stupid comment that I have ever read on these pages. HINDMARSH AND FITZY were absolute champions in SOO 1 and showed exactly what makes SOO the best footy in the world. They both threw everything that they had into that match and would have nearly been the first two selected again.

Azcatro, everyones entitled to their own opinion, but you should keep yours to yourself!

so where's the real team, because if thats the team to dominate queensland, we are screwed. We lost the game in kicking and forwards... because our forwards didnt go forward, our kicking game was crap. Not to mention kimmorely was the only kicker... 15 in SOO 1 where barrett did 2! Queensland will win SOO II

Ricky with a plethora of stars at the roosters has baffled me with his selctions. Now he is doing the same thing for NSW.

Anasta at five eighth, give me a break, his passing game and kicking game (except drop outs and bombs) are very ordinary. The only thing he has excelled at this year is his running game, but we already have Trent who can more than cover that. Orford should have been the choice, less of a risk than Anasta.

Ryles, whom I used to be a fan, mainly becuase he was a great offload man, but that seems to have disappeared. Very lucky indeed.

Andrew Ryan, great last year, pretty ordinary this year, lucky as well.

Rooney, though champion finisher and high ball taker, has got feet of clay. Eric Grothe Jnr if he continues to play well might get a sniff in the third game.

Where is Topou FFS, Watmough very unlucky.

Nice one, Baz attacks the line in a game more then Kimmorley will in his career. Two decent kicking options and outside backs who can set the world on fire on their day. Your halves arent meant to be ball runners anyway.

If you feel nothing for this game you are a fool, Origin is about your state your favourite club player. Kimmorley is a origin choker, proven.

Mate I fugged up, I ment to say we have two ball runners and no ball players thats why Johns or Kimmorley should be there as an orginiser.

Yeah right, no class in the backs... Slater = nothing? Bowen = nothing? Lockyer = nothing?

You are kidding yourself. Both sets of backs are very even, but QLD has better forwards... go you Maroons... clean sweep!!!

As a Queenslander, I am happy but also absolutely bamboozled by that team. Taking out a backrower and swapping him with another when your bench lacks a big man on campus, seems ludicrous. IF Watmough deserved to go, Tupou had to come in. I have never been a fan of playing players out of position in Origin. It takes a spot away from a player who plays it week in and week out at club level. Barrett plays his best footy at 5/8. Wouldnt be a bad combo to have him and Matt Orford outside him. But I guess Orford is in the class of "too small for Origin".

Short memory some of you people. NSW almost won the first game with Kimmorley playing an absolute terrible game, it came down to a poor option in the end to go for the magical play rather than play for field postion. I have faith in the selections and pretty sure NSW will start a lot better than the first game. It will come down to who wants to win the game more.

As a QLD supporter I am relieved yet still not optimistic. A team very similar to this team almost won game 1.

I suppose the two interesting selections are:

1. Anasta - has played more like a lock lately (and not a bad lock at that) but NSW have a squillion and one backrowers. Orford and perhaps even Finch would have been a better choice in the halves.
2. Props - still only the two specialists that got pummelled last game. Surely Kite or Tupou had done enough to displace one of the backrowers chosen to play like a prop. Forward pack would be much stronger with Kite and Tupou in and Simpson and Ryan out.

Just ask Paul Stringer in a Rabbitohs jersey. It's dumb football! I would bet my house that both Fitz and Hindy would be twice as effective even if they only played 60 minutes. Both of them used to play more that way and would often bust the line in a hitup or manage to poke their noses through the line. You have 12 other blokes in the defensive line as well, you don't have to do all the work yourself, that's just plain dumb. Especially in Origin where you need to be equally as effective on minute 79 as you do on minute 1.

As a QLD fan I would basically sh*t myself if Ricky gave those two a rest for 20 minutes in the game and then brought them back for the last 15-20 minutes with the instructions to run wide of the ruck.
