There's f**k all chance of Brailey leaving, you can dream but don't get you hopes up. Better chance of DeBelin playing Rd 1.

Besides what's the difference between hooker and lock from a workload perspective? They're both middle players, who will play 80 mins. Probably do less running as your not needing to be at dummy half as much, though I expect he'll jump in from time to time if he's closer than Brailey during play.

Also last year McInnes averaged 51 tackles at Lock and 56 tackles at hooker. So he's doing less work at Lock.

The difference is that he will be taking a lot more hitups playing lock, meaning getting tackled by the big boppers on a frequent basis. That will eventually take a toll on his body.

CMs position at the Club is now untenable....
How can he possibly play out this year , esp as our 2020 Captain , and the go to guy for all our young players coming through
Things mite start quietly but rest assured as soon as things get a bit tough , the blow torch will be on him,,
Best to cut all ties now.Do a deal with Sharks re player swap and move on.........

I agree.

I see little point in retaining him in circumstances where he can’t be wholly focused on the rebuild and has made it clear that he is not on team.

But Hooks contract is too short and he needs results pronto. He has virtually no players he wants, almost all inherited. McInness is a very good player for sure. Just can’t go to waste. A bit emotionally stale but he can get you through to dinner time.

Not like Madge, who has been able to sack 72% of the squad in 2 years and then target. 5 years should be enough time to plan a team with some kind of go, despite the odd horrific overs. It’s going slowly, but there’s a pulse detected every week or so!

By contrast, Hook is stuck with many Mary era players, so an almighty challenge. He has almost no time to get them to play to his tune in the way he wants at 100.

And let’s just say, Hook has a lot of the squad Mary “finally wanted” the expected cull and retribution due last year as a result of the horrific 2019 didn’t eventuate. Instead, fester went the USA on a stupid junket and came back with Issac Luke. A brave experiment that didn’t quite fill the beaker.

I’d ask you blokes to give Hook some leeway in this regard. I can see you creeping into the finals if Hook can get the playing at optimum groove going, but let’s not be too impatient.

But fascinating scenario you’re in. If it’s all a surrender and goes to pot, then at any rate you’re not stuck with Hook.

Lads I would have given him 3 or 4 years. A lot is being asked of him. Recovering from Mary is not an overnight scenario ( fingers crossed though).

It would be a great effort to reach the finals with Mary grain fed cattle. Fester would be furious. A footprint on his forehead! I’m sure he won’t watch the games anyway. No way. The club has proven itself unworthy of his greatness. Running water at the Sharks is beckoning.

Can't see the St George/Steelers playing in finals anytime soon
Well no, clearly not.

They’re not playing individually in the NRL & haven’t been for a long long time.

Any halfwit knows that.

Regardless about just how much McInnes has brought to the Dragons - and it was / is plenty , the fact remains that as far as our forward stocks go we have no real ‘ leader of the pack ‘ .

And that will be our downfall this season , unless Griffin is able to pull a rabbit out of the hat and very quickly .

He'll be playing finals footy, he won't at the Dragons. So he'll be playing more games.
I see..

But given you guys are sliding down the ladder year on year, to the point where you just scraped in to the finals last season, why do you believe that you’ll suddenly turn things around?

Form is cyclical for all clubs.. The Sharks are heading towards their trough..

I can only hope for everyone’s sake it isn’t Todd Carney’s one..

Mate lots of players sign with other clubs a year or so out, it's nothing new. Cam has come out and said there's no animosity between him and Hook or him and the club, he just wanted to secure a deal sooner rather than later. NO problems. He's also said he committed 100% to the Dragons for 2021 " whether as Captain or not ". So why would we ditch arguably our best and easily our most inspirational player coming into what will already be a tough year. That would be mindbogglingly stupid.

Geez Muzby..... that’s pretty lame. You must be hurting. For the record we’re aiming for the semis for the 7th year straight in ‘21. In that time if I’m correct you guys have totaled 1 semi-final?

Nah.... Brailey is firmly intrenched at the club. His old man is also a big part of the pathways and the younger brother is in Harold Matt’s. Think you’ll find we don’t have an equal swap and McInnis will see out his contract and do it wholeheartedly as well. Probably not as captain though.
Says it pretty much there...
Are you concerned , also, with the size of your back row if CM joins Graham and co , if he has indeed been signed as a 13 ??
Anyway good luck to him and the Sharks ....Once they have signed else where , the actual loyalty thing with his current club , is a pill i find hard to swallow , and in this case being Current Captain makes it that tad harder

Good post.... I think you’ll find McInnes will be determined to finish on a high at Saints. Has too much pride and too good a work ethic to be kicking stones. Yeah I’ve found it tough when a player agrees to terms elsewhere too but at the end of the day it’s a business and livelihood for these guys. Throw in the fact not many play past 32 or 33 and you can understand why they need to look after their future.
