What's wrong with the game being played at Parra?

Suity

Mate, I have no objections, I just am trying to find the justification.

If it is our "Trial" game then I am all for it, it will let the tigers off the hook with a few very irate members who buy Tigers memberships because the get to see them one a year on the Central Coast.

But the way it was published in the Media, it was a Tigers game that they moved from Gosford to Campbelltown to Combat the AFL Triple header at Blacktown this Saturday Night.

Fair enough. Bit of a strange one. I suppose they think they'll get a better crowd at Parra. It's all about beating the AFL at anything. Then again, at 25 smackeroos a ticket, they're not going the right way about it.

Also out of the three (or 4) possible venues

Campbelltown,
Parramatta
ANZ,

I will take ANZ Stadium every time, and I think you would be with me on that one.

To be honest Mark, I couldn't give a rat's where they play a trial.
An NRL game - yes, I'm with you on that one.

$25 ? They just don't get it do they ? Last week the Tahs played Fiji at the SFS. Adults were $10. Family ticket was $20.

I didn't think trials were 'owned' as such, moreso that clubs organise them with other clubs and sort out and negotiate where such trials are to be played. The NRL isn't involved or anything. So if for whatever reason the Tigers decided that playing at Parramatta would result in more tickets being sold or what not, they'd discussed it with Eels management and organise to play it there. Revenue is probably shared between the clubs if there is anyway. It's a trial, so it really doesn't matter where you play it as the result means nothing.

Yeh, that's a bit rich!

Well 15 dollars for GA which is pretty reasonable really. Even home games at Parra cost at least 24 bucks if you want reserve seating so in comparison it's fine to me. Even that dodgy Four Nations 'test' involving the Kangaroos and a bunch of park footballers from PNG cost 25 minimum bucks and that was JUST for behind the goal lines. This trial will at least be a contest between 2 NRL quality sides.

I've got no problems with that price generally, but it's a trial ffs - a Mickey Mouse game.
Should be 10 bucks max. They ain't playing for sheep stations.
15 for GA is just having a laugh. And they want to compete with the AFL.
f**king idiots, honestly.

Yeah I guess you're right overall. I guess from a business point of view it would still cost a fair to organise with all the stadium hire costs, staff and equipment they need available. So the overheads for what will probably be a lowly attended match would be pretty high still, so clubs can't really afford to make tickets too cheap to the point they are losing money.

I'd rather they made tickets a bit cheaper and got a bigger crowd. Not only for the atmosphere but alot of the younger kids might keep coming back, whose families couldn't otherwise afford to. Wouldn't want to see the poor souls lost to the dark side that is afl. Or heaven forbid soccer.

I think when it comes to NRL games, the price is pretty reasonable most of the time. Well tickets are. The fact you can go and watch Parra play at home for 17 bucks as an adult is better than any other club offers, food and drink is a joke as it is everywhere but that's a stadium thing. I don't think lowering prices would increase ticket sales all that much. Even when they offer 2 for one deals, or give away free tickets, or any other promos you get a slight increase on crowds but that's about it. And that's because only after they're heavily advertised and casual fans think 'well i've not been to a footy game this year, might go this one as my game to go to cause it's cheaper'. But I doubt dropping the price of tickets would result in heavilly increasing crowds.
