I wonder if he'll opt for the LARS reconstuction rather than the traditional type. He'd be back by around round 20 if that was the case.

If the rumors are true I don't see why not. Tried it the natural way last time and that didn't work.

Has anyone apart from Covell had it done?

So this hasnt made the press yet? If it's true I was wondering if he will opt for LARS like the great Luke Covell?

He is one of the most liked players in the NRL, such a shame if it's true.

Bad luck feel for the bloke.
On the upside by the time he gets back on the park he'll have a full head of plugs

Confirmed...........f*ck!

Campese's knee takes him out for another season

Lee Gaskin
April 18, 2012 - 8:36AM

Canberra Raiders captain Terry Campese requires a second knee reconstruction in as many years and will miss the rest of the NRL season.

Surgery on Tuesday revealed that damage to Campese's left knee was worse than first thought, the 27-year-old tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) for the second time.

It is believed the former Kangaroos and NSW five-eighth will have another operation today.

The injury has a nine-month recovery period.

Campese was initially believed to have torn the medial meniscus in his knee during last Friday night's 30-6 loss to the Brisbane Broncos.

Raiders officials have not returned calls from The Canberra Times this morning.

Campese first tore his ACL in the 2010 semi-final loss to the Wests Tigers, and played just eight minutes of last season

Has to be more than bad luck.

your right, alot of it comes down to preparation and the way they train and their rehab after games.

sometimes, its just plain old bad luck, and to me it seems that campo just doesnt have the legs to match his potential.

Williams hasn't been named for Mounties the last few weeks either.

Question: Would the amount of scar tissue in his knee be the reason scans and examination did not pick up the ACL damage?

Time to review the rehab procedures and staff ?

Bad luck or not with all the injuries the prep and training should be looked at

Scans are iffy at best for detecting specific damage in a joint and any scar tissue could def have masked the real extent of the injury

Poor bloke, it seems this is becoming chronic for him and the odds are not good but I hope the bloke pulls through and comes out the other side a better player.

Sad news. Lucky for him he signed a long contract that was generous. Canberra must be kicking themselves even more then they were before. From memory a couple of years ago, he agreed to sign a shorter and far less financially appealing contract, but Canberra decided to hold it back from him as they weren't sure he was needed. He then hit great form that had him selected for the Australian team and the contract grew massively.

Well if the injury keeps ignorant red necks like skeepe sad, then it's not a total disaster.

Maybe time to get Orford back?

Apparently they have opted AGAINST the LARS surgery...

Begs the question... Why?

It has been extremely successful!
