Campese. ACL. Torn.

Im starting to feel like a Tigers fan circa 06-07 when Benji had all those shoulder reco's...Except we have a bunch of other players out as well.

I'm sick of losing players to injury every single game.

We need to get some new physios/strength n conditioning coach or something. I dunno. Someone needs to get fired.

Just on a side note, I find it amusing that Souths fans who claim every year that "injuries destroyed our season" are saying Canberra have a problem with their rehabilitation, etc. Look at yourselves fools!

Unfortunately for Canberra, I don't see Campese being able to come back with any great form.

John Macaky says - "If it comes down to hiring someone who can do the job properly and we just wanted to keep players on the field, then we'd scout a suitably qualified expert. But, David Furners young fella is really satrting to get interested in the weights and we thought we'd give him the job. We;d have to lose our entire roster at once to even consider replacing the little guy. He'llbe here for as long as he wants"

After 7 rounds we've had injuries to Dugan, Fensom, Campese, Shillington, TLL, Robinson, Thurling, Tilse, Thompson and White.

Has to be more than bad luck.
Canberra has had such a run with injuries over the past few years it cant be just luck.

Poor Campese and Raiders fans....

Don't write him off just yet guys. Remember Lockyer did his ACL at 30 years old and came back. He was out for 9 months - the first season he was back he was quiet, but his last season was arguably the best season of his career.

You can't do much about knees. Campo was already wobbly.

exactly
people pissing and moaning about the injuries need to wake up to themselves

Dugan's is the only injury in the list that could have been avoided, he was carrying a dodgey shoulder and should have been rested, but then again if we rest dugan for every game he's carrying a niggle, we'd barely sight him

TLL is forever picking up little injuries, has since the dawn of his time, his body isnt capable of the FG rigors.
Shillington's injury, along with Fensom, Robinson, Tilse, Thurling, JT were all impact in-game injuries.

White was your classic nothing really happened so the ACL blew out and Campese's knee is shot to bits.

Im not sure how we can blame the club for this, but never mind, our fans will find a way. Hell they'll probably even find a way to blame David Furner!
The raiders must have the smartest fans in the comp, have a look at the GH and this theead, over half of our fans appear to be doctors, and not just doctors, doctors who specialise in knees!

Is it the same knee as last year?

Would have to be question marks on his future, surely?

Bad luck, terrible news

Come now Nick neither TLL or Dugans injury were handled very well by the club. They both literally just made the existing injury worse when they played. I appreciate your angle here but both were disastrously managed.

I fear, I absolutely fear that Dugan is going to feel pressure to be declared fit and play injured against the Sharks and get taken out for the season. With RR performing at fullback to a good standard I had hoped that the club and Dugan would let him heal up for once. Now the pressure is on him to return ASAP.

Apparently they have opted AGAINST the LARS surgery...

Begs the question... Why?

It has been extremely successful!
Because the normal reconstruction rehabs better long term.

The amount of impact type injuries in recent seasons to Pecs, bicep tears etc perhaps suggests there is something wrong with strength and conditioning practices, and in fairness it appears looking at players they've altered their practices (players such as Minichiello, Gasnier last year etc carrying a lot less bulk than they were).

Need to amend the thread title.
Surely this is a career killer. Has anyone come back from three serious knee injuries?
Bad luck Campo and the Raiders fans who are decent.
Would really hate to see you guys go through another 2011.

He's only had two serious injuries though hasnt he? Last year was a muscle tear.

Canberra have definetly over taken Penrith, Manly, Tigers for shit luck with injuries this year.

Hope he can make it back to field and still be a decent player.

We have literally a million dollars plus on the sidelines in salary cap money. Probably closer to 1.5 million. Terrible.

Yeah, terrible news for Campese and Canberra.

Hopefully a young halves prospect can burst onto the scene for them to make up for it somewhat.

Sam Williams will probably come back, pretty sure this is the guy most Canberra fans wanted in the halves instead of Mcrone this season
