John Sutton and Rhys Wesser only came back from injury 1 week before the Charity Shield and missed pretty much the entire off-season.
Roy Asotasi is coming back from doing his ACL and has barely trained also.
Sam Burgess is playing his first NRL season, after moving countries at the age of 21.
Dave Taylor is starting off at a new club.
We have a new coach.
Ben Ross, Michael Crocker, Eddy Pettybourne, Colin Best are still to return.

If you want to write us off, fine, then do so. But come Rounds 6-7 when everyone bar Pettybourne is back on deck and the players have had a couple of months to work on their combinations... I expect only then to get a true indication of where we're at as a team.

So in other words we're supposed to give Souths a break for being like majority of the competition.
I think a lot of us would kill for the line up Souths have, I know I'd love some of your backs.

On the Titans, particularly disappointing is the form of Greg Bird.
Was looking forward to him ripping in after his time off, but he has been very, very poor like the rest of the Titans side.

The Titans are making the same mistake everyone else makes with Greg Bird by assuming that because he has played five eighth that he is a five eighth. At the moment Prince needs a person with vision alongside him to make things happen.

Bird is far too good a lock and support runner to be playing five eighth and trying to make him fulfill a play making role detracts from his natural game.

Mat Rogers is a far better five eighth and at his age should not be playing in the Centres. Some youngster should assume that role.

Ash Harrison is one of the most effective reserves in the game. He has great footwork and is deceptively agile. These attributes are best utilised when he is fresh and others have been running for 20 minutes. He needs to start on the bench.

If they make those changes then the Titans will be back to their best.

Very good post. The Rabbits problems aren't so easily fixed. They are weak defencively out wide, and their halves are terrible, dispite having some good pace in the back line and an excellent pack. Sandow's job should be easy concidering the players he has around him.

The bloke needs a lot of one on one with a quality halves trainner and kicking trainner, and the coach needs to develop a couple of very simple but effective attacking set plays.
