Besides the bye in Round 1, I think it is a very fair draw. There is a number of home games early on which can possibly get some early wins up which is just what our team will need.

The only thing that stinks is no dragons or sharks away games which is real downer for myself and robs the SGB of two games.

By Round 2, you would expect most teams will be up to the pace of NRL footy, while we'll still look like we just got out of bed....

True, although did you notice that the Raiders don't play in Sydney from Rnd 15 (Bulldogs) to Rnd 25 (Eels) - that's a 10 week break. :shock:

Surely this isn't good planning on the NRL's behalf, it's almost as though they don't want us to become accustomed to playing in Sydney.

The draw around origin is very good for us.

Origin 1:
Week before: vs Wests (who should be without Scott Prince)
Week after: vs Roosters

Origin 2:
Week before: vs Broncos (who WILL be without at least 7 or 8 top players)
Week after: vs Bulldogs

Origin 3:
Week before: vs Panthers (although they could still be strong with Johns coming back i don't think Gower will get a run. I expect that the Panthers won't get as much representation in origin next year)
Week after: vs Storm

All 6 of our opponents during origin should have key players out or backing up which should be good. Prefer to beat the big teams with their full strength squads but for next year IMO a win will be a win no matter how we get the points.

Interesting that you say that, because they have been given the bye during Origin time, along with the Roosters and Dogs, which shows the NRL expects them to have some sort of representation.

Come to think of it, its not a great draw. We don't have a bye in the whole last half of the season. Interesting also, that we play the knights twice in 7 weeks.

I would expect too, that we would be on at least a 5 game winning streak going into the finals.

And I'm cut about the first round bye. It has to be someone though I guess... Just sucks that its us.
