And why would yo do that Timbo ... we're pretty well off in the halves arent we ?? ... what with Campo burning it up and Herb the next err err Todd Carney ... I'd say management knew full well when they dealt the blow to Carney that as far as halves were concerned we're on our way to the top of the table.

Don't for a minute think that because I support the sacking of Carney do I think that suddenly he's easily replaceable.

He was our best player. Herbert has talent but he's not on the same plane as Carney.

Monaghan, on the other hand, is.

But Monaghan is contracted Timbo ! ... and as I implied before management would be the biggest bunch of hypocrites if they flashed $400K under his nose as ecouragement to come to some sort of "agreement" while being supported by the NRL in the de-registration of Todd Carney ... managment didnt want Carney in our organisation ... now let him get on with his life if another club is smart enough to pick him up.

You do understand that there are legitimate ways of getting out of a contract dont you?

There are also ligitimate ways of making it very easy for a player to ask for such a release. ... I'm quite sure that Michael would not consider walking away from a hefty contract unless he has had discssions with another party that can offer a very similar package.

Get real Timbo ... the Raiders have a spare $400K ... it wont be any coincidence that he takes up that slack here.

And that my friend is about as hypocritical as the Raiders having alchohol distributors as their major sponsors when they and the NRL are fully aware that 95% of problems associated with footballers can be tracked back to booze.

What planet are you living on Bay? Oh thats right, I forgot, planet Bay: where only your delusional rantings are true.

If Monaghan doesn't like England and can seek a legitimate release from his club to come back and play for us, where is the hypocracy?

I'm sure you'll find some strange nonsensical argument, along the lines of:

blah blah blah I've been supporting this club for six hundred years blah blah blah Don Furner grrr blah blah Todd Carney is god blah blah season ticket.

With a carrot courtesy of the Raiders I'm sure Mona's will do his best to encourage the Wolves for an early release.

I might add Timbo, what planet are you on mate ... the "Don Furner is always right and has done marvellous things for this club, blah blah blah" planet.

OK so the club is now evil because we have a sponsor who in a round about way caused Todd's problem... So when am I sueing the Raiders as their primary sponsor, being a union (not my union but related to one so in the same logic as our sponsor supplies drinks), didn't stop my department being outsourced?

I didnt say the clb was evil ... hypocritical for sure ... it is a well known fact that alcohol is the root of most cases of footballer unsocialable behaviour yet we choose to have one or two as our major sponsors and in fact displayed signs behind Carney at his press interview on Thurday.

Check my post history bay. I'm far from being a supporter of management on most issues. But that wouldn't fit with your latest rant, would it?

By the way, this little conspiracy of yours, Raiders having a liquour chain as a sponsor...That's gold bay.

I bet in the same move if Toohey's offered us five million dollars a season and the club refuted on moral grounds you'd be screaming because the club made a bad business decision.

On one hand you attack the club for taking the moral high ground, and on the next, you say they have no morals?

You're only happy when you're complaining, it's very transparent, and quite laughable frankly.

It's not a conspiracy theory Timbo ... it's a fact that you cant dispute.

It is a well know fact that alcohol and footballers dont mix very well ... documented cases at Collingwood and the Raiders are just a few.

Yet we promote the substance and then expect some of our vulnerable footballers to toe the line when a problem raises its head ... I have attacked the club for taking the high moral ground for that reason.

I have also attacked the club for signing the likes of Costigan yet are asking for Carney to be de-registered ... fine if they dont want him here but what purpose does it serve to insist on his de-registration ... what good does it do this club.

Btw I find your "head in the sand" approach to be quite laughable.

The interview before the game was interesting... So Carney was dumb enough to drink again after all of this... Personally that really settles it...

Cryptic the guy was celebrating at a family friends 50th bday and then went with friends to the Workers ... as Furner said "we dont have a ban on players drinking" ... the group that he was with attracted attention from the locals ... the rest is not clear but I very much doubt it was of Carney's making.

... If you're currently under investigation for child porn I vote going to a primary school stage play would have been a bad idea...

^ Just incase no one gets it translation - You've almost been sacked for drinking, bad idea to go to a pub regardless of the reason....

Interesting analogy there Crypo

so what you are saying is that the club was quite wrong in sending Carney to one of those schools promotion programmes ??

No... The club would have been wrong getting him to dress up in a tight shirt and sending him to a pub to promote Cougar... However the club asked him to not drink anymore and he couldn't manage to stay away from a pub, regardless of if he was drinking or not (although Don Furner said he had been I might add) for a week... The point is it's the last thing you would do if you're trying to convince someone that your going to try and give it up... Just like you wouldn't expect a drug addict to visit a free injecting room the day after he promised to get off the stuff...
