I'm glad I'm not a knights or titans fan because after watching Brian Carney run around for the opening 10 rounds of the comp i would be mighty disappointed.
The two clubs have outlayed a motza to secure the services of the man given the, somewhat dubious, title of Britians best winger. But watching him play brings nothing but cringes.
Sure he can run a bit with the ball in hand. But his defence is atrocious. He finds himself out of position time and time again and half arsed Raider and Rabbit wingers jog around the outside of him like he's not there. Last weekend the tigers showed if you want to test the knights - run at carney.
Two of my mates, Knights fans from Newcastle, rib me a bit and say 'look at carney making a run' when he gets the ball, but fair dinkum, he runs 20 metres sideways before he runs 5 metres forward. They agree with my stance on Carneys defence (or lack there of) however.
I'm not sure what point i'm trying to make here, but it frustrates me when the Channel 9 commentators put these huge raps on Carney, and imo he is still yet to live up to them. Do any Knights fans feel the same?
