I have to say I like this kid, Gadwin Springer coming through at the Dragons. From what I've seen so far, this kid has some serious x factor and I look forward to see him develop. Does anyone have any background on him?

He played for France U18s when they beat the touring Australian side in 2012(?), spent the last few years in the Dragons reserve team in the French league and made one Super League appearance as a substitute last year, although I'm not sure if he actually got on the field. I've been excited about him for a while, there's a video on YouTube of him scoring a try from inside his own half in the French Cup a few weeks ago.

Also the winger Yaha who made his Super League debut last weekend is another good prospect, he had a trial with Leeds a few years ago but unfortunately dislocated his shoulder minutes into his first match for their U20s.

Thanks EH, Gadwin does look like he's still a bit raw but boy he's got some talent. I wonder if he's started RL at a later age and this may be why he's just starting to blossom now. I'll have a look at Youtube to see what I can find.

It was great to see last week against Hull KR a new generation of French youngsters playing so well, I think the other big prop Julien Bousquet is also a real prospect coming through.

Bousquet has been in first grade for years, easy to forget that he's only 23. Benjamin Garcia is another showing real promise, he scored a great try against Hull KR. I was thinking during that game that France could have a pretty handy side in 2017 and beyond, a spine of Escare, Fages and Pelissier could be really threatening if they can find another half.

Agree, I really rate Fages.
Is Remy Marginet still at Fev Rovers ?
It would be good if he established himself as a top class 6 or 7.

I think he's still there but he seems to have been out of the team in recent weeks, I'm not sure he's more than a Championship standard half. It's a shame Barthau got such a bad injury when he was finally going to get a chance to establish himself as a first choice half for a side, I was looking forward to seeing how he went for London this year.
Time for a second French team into the championship then?

They can't all play for Catalans.
Absolutely, although I've said many times that there's nothing stopping English clubs from signing any of these players. A lot of English fans (and until recently, clubs) seem to have this strange mentality that all French players should have to be playing in France.

I've gotta say after watching Catalan v Saints, Garcia is a lot better player than I thought, he was outstanding. He's not that big but is pretty powerful and evasive.
Pretty exciting times in France, I thought Bousquet and Yaha were very pretty strong as well.

BY THE WAY, how good were Whitehead and Taia ?

Garcia is a very good player but his defence out wide needs work if he is to remain playing in the centres. I agree with Bousquet and Yaha, 2 good promising players.

Whitehead is a gun and has been playing well all season, the Raiders will have a good forward in him next season. The dragons are a frustrating team to watch though, they give away stupid penalties and lack composure at crucial points in the game.

I think that was Garcia's first ever match at centre. He's normally a back-rower/lock.

Gadwin has apparently signed with Castleford.

Also when the rumour of this signing started a couple of weeks ago it was said Garcia was looking at switching to Penrith.

Catalans chairman have released a statement about referees and especially what happened today the second try. Sorry, I can't put the link.

He does this every season. Five metres forward should've been picked up by both referees but the biggest insult is how Dureau can keep missing easy kicks against Hudds?

Dureau has been absolutely dreadful this season. He's already announced that he's leaving at the end of the year and I'm pretty sure they would ship him off now if they weren't already down to their fifth-choice halfback.

Dureau just hasn't been the same after coming back after surgery.

I hear Catalans have signed Aiton, I wonder if Pellesier is looking elsewhere?
