Ive said it before and I'll say it again, the testimonial dinners need to come back. And fans need to be invited.

Well, the "rumoured" big sponsor that was going to come on board has certainly been announcing some obscene profits of late.
Surely they can send a few million our way. :sarcasm:

Suity

Just shows the person spruiking this story, was not as influential with the "decision makers" of the bank as he thought he was...... :sarcasm:

Tickets were $250 each

All tables were sold and sponsors paid for their own tables so I'm not sure what your on about Uncle Leo.

With regards to open to supporters, stand by for a nice event to come up shortly for all Eels fans that is on the cards hopefully

Will the people in the cheaper seats out the back clap your hands?
And the rest of you up front, if you'll just rattle your jewelry.

There will be a few NRL types hitting the casino for afters no doubt.

Shame that the punters didn't get the opportunity to say goodbye and thanks as well.

Yeah the elitists at this club are becoming most intolerable.

Annoying that supporters weren't given the option.... I'm no footballer but I could have afforded $250 if I wanted to go.

There's only one way to show them what fans want... and that's to threaten to vote them out, until we start getting what we - fans and Members - want.

It worked last elections, we got some change. Unfortunately imo it still needs to shift further, and the only way to influence seems to be the ballot box - everyone's "personal connections" with the current Board don't seem to be achieving jack on any issue raised on here.

 True.

There was something about him that rubbed me the wrong way on those pre-election balcony meetings. Glad people have started to see through him, and hope that he now wields less influence, if that's the case...

Simple People

Ring the club and ask them why this event wasn't broadcasted to all members.

Stupid board, it's all their fault I didn't get an invite.

It's the board fault for everything, have we blamed the board for the interest rate hike?

Sorry Jodeci, we don't all have buddies in high places that feed us info.

Therefore we're 'simple'

I don't believe its the board's sole fault, or the club's sole fault - but surely someone out of all the people involved in this dinner would have had cast a thought towards supporters.

Over all the politics and mismanagement tbh, they have my support on field and thats it.

If they were to invite fans and charge $300 a ticket, there would be whinging too... Sometimes you can't win.

Personally, I've said goodbye and thank you and see no need to attend a dinner, but I'm a simply guy whose easily pleased.
