Agree with Colonel on this one

Would be a great signing but would have a detrimental effect on our ability to have good back ups in key positions. Having 2 players (JT + Hayne) taking up 30% of the cap could not be good thing for the remaining 23 players we need to fit in.

If by some off chance we did get Thurston - no one way in hell should he walk into the captaincy.

Well done Nathan Cayless on a brilliant career. All you need now is a premiership, with all the fans support behind you (except those on League Unlimited of course, as they all think our chances are gone already and you should not be captain anymore...). Well done on 2 minor premierships, well done on the 2008 World Cup, well done on representing your country and well done becoming the most capped one club captain of all time, you deserve it champion.

And what a surprise, the 'true blue' Eels supporters on League Unlimiteds reaction is 'Cayless is gone, now we can get rid of more players and buy Thurston for some reason, because even though we whinge about the Dogs being bought not bred the only way for us to be successful is to buy a premiership!' Seriously great loyalty guys.

bit less venom now that the obvious has been made public and people might realise how he will be missed - i'm pretty sure he would have retired last year if he had been a winning Captain on the October long weekend......

saw cayless on the box.

seemed annoyed that it had been 'leaked' out, that he wanted to make the announcement at his own timing.

if someone from the club leaked it, they should be shot.
