Wouldn't it just look like the Perth Reds jersey?

North Sydney's worse jersey was the one worn during the 1992-1999.

I co-worked with three different people within my company, different demographics, etc.

Two didn't watch NRL and one went for the Broncos.

All three said they were North Sydney Bears supporters and walked away from the game (or in the case of the 3rd, decided to pick a new team to follow, one that would never get turfed and regularly won so he'd never feel so gutted again).

All came as a revelation, as the two who walked away just don't care for RL. When I told each of them the CC Bears is bidding hard, they got this twinkle in their eye and said 'they would have to check it out'.

Not that I think the NRL will pick them now, but someone else said it: it would right a great injustice of the Super League era.

When you consider it: Souths won re-admittance, Gold Coast came back, people want a new SE Qld / 2nd Brisbane and Perth team... only Norths remain to be fixed.

You forgot Adelaide.

Don't laugh.. isn't it supposed to be a NATIONAL rugby league??

The Rams were the forgotten sacrifice of the war.

lol.. not saying it'll happen overnight.

However it shouldn't be forgotten that we had a start there, and just chucked it in the "too hard" basket quite rashly.

Not saying there isn't one, but is there an Adelaide bid team out there at the moment. Only ever seem to see CC, CQ, BB and West Coast?

Western Corridor (Ipswich) and PNG have bids too. Media have mentioned Wellington as well but I haven't found any concrete evidence that there is a bid from there.

There is no Adelaide bid and I know for a fact the SARL doesn't think Adelaide and can currently sustain an NRL team. 2-3 games a year at most.

It's been a tad over 4 years since the Greg Florimo led Central Coast Bears bid started, 6 years since the WA Reds (now West Coast Pirates) bid started, 3 years since Central Queensland RL bid started and 15 years (20 if you count the originated suggestion) since the confirmation that North Sydney Bears would be relocating to the Central Coast came to light. Some bids have dropped out like Wellington/Southern Orcas. Others have been plotting along like Brisbane Bummers and some have huge potential but seem stagnant like Western Corridor/Jagera and PNG.

Clarity is needed and deserved. These bid deserve the right to know what is happening and so does the public who have commited time, money and efforts over this span of time. ARLC need to be transparent and carefully strategize their moves to ensure all parties and bids are on the same page.

EXACTLY.

Clarity is precisely what's needed right now.

The time for giving vague praise to the bid teams is over, it's about time for the NRL to chart a course for expansion in the next 10 years (at least) and get on with it.

Too true. Time to tell everyone where they stand. If they are not going to expand in the next 5 years tell everyone, tell everyone where the next two expansion areas will be so the rest can move on and stop wasting time and money. Just give us some vision and strategy FFS!

Here, Here.

I hope it's the Pirates as one of them. I like the T-shirts and got a few comments on Grand Final day from people interested.

I wonder if the reason they formally haven't said anything is because they either a) want one new team by 2016 and the 2nd in 2017 or b) they have NFI what they want.

No current team should fall over since there is a billion dollars coming NRL's way

The best way forward is to identify the expansion areas and offer each one of the following scenarios:

A) Bids that are chosen for this round of expansion.
You're in. Get everything ready - your first game is in x seasons time.

B) Bids that are not a priority this time, but will be in the next round.
Develop your juniors, see if you can get an existing NRL club to bring a couple of their home games to your city (to get a buzz going - we could even help you there..), oh and get your stadium together.
If you do that, after this round of expansion we'll let you know when you'll be in.

C) Regions too small (population or economy-wise) for an NRL team
We don't see your region being sustainable for a team on it's own in the near future. We can however help broker a deal with one of our existing clubs to help junior development & bring a couple of their home games your way. If you get some population growth, we'll reassess.

What do you think?

FMD - that'd be too sensible.

They wont do the sensible thing, There into smoke and mirrors and riddles and pulling people along for years and letting them waste money and time on a hopeless cause.
