A fit McInnes and Talakai or Wilton or both on the bench nearly eliminates the need for a utility on the bench.

Braily would have no trouble slotting into the half’s in an emergency with McInnes to hooker. Talakai & Wilton cover edges.

4 forward bench helps manages their workload throughout the season.
So are you for or against having Trindall on the it?

I know you didn’t ask me, but I’d rather use that 4th bench spot on a 10 min stint of Royce or Pele coming off the back fence and trampling blokes than Tricky (who I like) getting a token 5 mins to try and make an impact, and him making mistakes as a result of overplaying his hand.
I think Pele is a long way down the pecking order, from the game on Sunday in jets undisclpined in defence, would be a liability in first grade at moment

Someone said it here a week or so ago, buy maybe the thinking with Trindall is to have him preparing and being a part of the NRL squad all week rather than working with the Jets. Don't worry about minutes on the park, just ease him in slowly.

I don't mind it. Our forwards all look fit enough to handle the minutes they're being asked to play so I think that last bench spot is ok for now.

Trindall on the bench for 5 or 6 minutes looks to be really hurting the poor kid.
Hazelton on the bench would not let anyone down. Up quick off the line, Whacks blokes in defence and his first and last hit ups are that of a mad man. He has NRL written all over him and is way ahead of Hunt, Pele etc.

The Sharks are running a three man bench.
The 4th man is purely there to cover for a game ending injury.
Trindall getting his 5 mins is a token.
Lets see in a few weeks when Wado comes back, and what, if any, other injuries have occurred.

Hazelton

Does anyone know if he has been elevated to the top 30? He doesn't feature on the Sharks website as a top squadder but zerotackle has updated their page and he's been added there.

If he's not top 30 he can't play till a governed time. Last year it was round 11 when dev players and non NRL players could be selected. Don't know the cutoff for 2022

They can play from round 1 in 2022, rule came in due to covid

I hope Talakai is still playing left centre when we face Manly so he can smash that smug prick Harper , for some reason i have a serious dislike of the guy .
A-f**king-men. As is often the way, your subconscious has supplied the solution to your own riddle; “smug prick”.

Sterner tests that an origin centre in good form?
Sterner tests than the shapes they ran at him. Clifford and Ponga did nothing to make Sifa have to make quick decisions. No decoys, out the back plays etc. Just give it to Gagai and hope he runs around him (which he did a couple of times).

Penrith, Souths, Easts would run a lot more action at Sifa. Not sating he wouldn't handle it but the better team will test his decision making and lateral movement a lot more that Newcastle did.

Pele has a long way to go. His game is all over the shop from what I saw on the weekend. Don't know why Hunt is getting left out, I'd use him instead of Fifita but hey, there must be some reason. Anyway I hope they swap Trindall for Williams.

Williams for Trindall is the change I’d be making.

Ahh yeah thanks but it's not that cut and dried. Not that we thought it would. Looks like it's only to cover a significant COVID outbreak.

nrl.com
“We have communicated to the clubs that there is an opportunity for them to access players outside the top 30 before round 11, on the basis of the impact of a COVID positive case.

“Provided that the salary cap auditor has been provided evidence that there has been a positive COVID case for a player, then clubs are able to access players from outside their top 30 list in a controlled manner.”

There will be no change to the size of NRL squads, but each club is allowed up to six development players they can now call on from round one and will also be allowed to call on talent with feeder teams in the NSWRL Knock On Effect Cup or Queensland’s Hostplus Cup.

His lazy left arm will have him on the sidelines every other week. Worst tackling technique ever and very slow and reactive laterally.

Even in attacking plays he likes to stay on the the side of the PTB a lot I noticed. You're a big attacking unit, get involved and have a go son!!!
