Wonder how many they'll show?

They've showed 1 in 1995
They haven't showed any from 1996-2003
And now they will show at least 4 this year (maybe 5!).
2005 they'll show....

Hopefully Nine will now give the coverage they deserve... a few friday nighters will be good :D

What really irritated me was when Sutcliffe was doing the intro and said "Nobody knows who they are" when, for a start, that's probably only the channel 9 audience, and secondly, who's fault is that?

When the draw comes out and Ch. Nine schedules the first 5 friday games of the season, I'll bet the cowboys are in a couple of them. We might see the Cowboys scheduled to face the Broncs early in the season for a friday nighter.

A friday night TV football game is something we've never had.... it's the thing we've always wanted.

Totally agree.

I can't stand how Channel 9 have handled them the last few weeks. It's like they're cashing in on the Cowboys success - having the Footy Show up there, going inside the dressing room for the victory song, etc - when in reality Channel 9 has been missing for 9 years, because they've had more than enough opportunities to show Cowboys games (earlier this year, last year when they were on a winning streak, etc).

If I was a Cowboys fan, I'd be pissed off at how Channel 9 is proclaiming it like a Rugby League miracle when they've been nowhere to be found up until they're actually successful. I know that probably sounds a bit rich and they should be happy that they're on TV now, but still, it just reeks of sensationalism by Channel 9.

In all reality, this is a side whose highest finish was ELEVENTH before this year. They also occupy a niche market outside of the Major TV markets.

Nine has neglected them, but a profit driven bastard like Packer had some very rational reasons to, Business wise.

Speaking of Nine. How bad was there audio problems tonight.

No sound:

Mark Geyer coming out of dressing room at start :?
At full time with Muza :?:
At full Time with Gordon Tallis in his last game. As much as I don't like him, I wouldn't mute him in his last match.
At first attempt to capture the Cowboys team song.

Maybe they won't be in a hurry to go back after that debacle. #-o

If I was a cowboy fan, I would be grateful they have finally come to the party for them.

We can't afford the luxury of bitching & carping on about being ignored since LONG before the Super League BS (don't mention the war).... CH9 are a very shallow/fair weathered friend of ours, but we all appreciate the opportunity now it's arrived. NQ has been overwhelmed (from Weipa to Rocky and everywhere in between). May it never end. :alcho:

Surely you jest) .

Not that I'm bitter or anything...

There is good and bad in more Cowboys FTA games. I prefer Fox, the commentary is not as consistently awful as Nien, no ads, home games are on Saturday nights so I can fit work in around them :D but FTA games are good for the club and its sponsors so I guess I have to put up with it. Lucky I'm a stoic and have broad shoulders :D

You can't blame channel 9. The Cowboys have been shite since they entered the comp. If they can keep improving and remain competitive then Channel 9 will show some of their games.

Yeah? Other teams have been "shite" for years, they still got TV games. How do you explain that?
