Not sure if it is common knowledge but thought it was worth a mention.

On Fox Sports 3

Is it being played earlier this year? I seem to recall it being shown later last year, possibly because of other live sport on both channels?

This is the first time in a long while it's been live in Oz. I'm pretty sure Balmain Leagues Club has Fox Sports 3 so I'll be going there to watch it. I remember staying up as a kid to watch the ABC playing the BBC feed. Can't wait for this one.

I'm fairly sure it was live 2 years ago, I'd have to check the tape though to confirm.

All the other times I've seen it, we get the BBC coverage.

I gotta say, you guys in England might get sick of Stevo and Eddie, but they are 10 million times better than Davies and French, I can never understand them and they can't keep up with the play, plus there is always big gaps between commentary, they go quiet for a while, them talk about something that happened 5 mins ago.

You guys really need the CC com team to move into the 21st century, I feel sorry for ya.

But it's better than nothing.

don't worry, ray french has got much time left, he'll either bow out after the final on saturday or he might hold out till the world cup next year..for me though ray french is the sound of RL but he's getting bad...like murry walker was before he retired..

the bbc "other" commentator is miles better, a guy called dave woods,he did the wigan v catalan semi and normally does all of bbc radio 5 live super league commentary..

I actually enjoy French more than Woods, because of the spirit he puts into his commentary. Woods is dull to listen to, whereas French screaming and shouting whenever someone is "going for the line" adds to the atmosphere for me. Agree though, Eddie and Stevo are a lot better.

Starkers, apparently the teams have named 20-man squads, but I can't find them anywhere. I'll post them when I can.

That Catalans team is definitely wrong, they are only allowed 8 foreigners per match and Griffi has already been ruled out.

I like French, he isnt so bad.

Its usually been live here over the years. Last year though i think it was on 2 hour delay. Anyway looking forward to it.

Jed, I think it's been the same time each year for a while, on the long weekend in August.

There are 20 man squads on BBC website, but I'm not sure of their accuracy.

Re Griffi's inclusion, perhaps someone (Murphy?) has recently qualified as a non-foreigner?

There's a slight change to the schedule on Saturday night. 9:30 (after the NRL) will be highlights of the Bulls vs Saints semi final, followed by highlights of the Warriors vs Catalans, and then the final will be on at midnight. (all times AEST, of course)

Thanks Bart, it was the TV-time I was curious about - last years wasn't able to be shown live from memory, it was on about 5am I think.

I was all set to go to last year's final, unfortunately had to fly back to Oz the weekend before the game, missed out. It was a choice between the final and spending my birthday a month earlier with my fiance in Bradford. I still think I made the right choice :D

Will it be on in WA?
Yes, Fox Sports is a National feed, it'll be on at a much more palatable time than the east coast.

They are a talented squad, that's for sure. Can put out 17 quality players each capable of something that can turn a match in their favour. Catalans disrupted their flow very well in the first half, but couldn't keep it up.

Thought young Clough made the most of his chance off the bench, and acquitted himself well. Add Flannery back into that Saints side and they look specials to take out the league as well...
