For the 1,000th time, the stupid CEO doesn't make the call on the player roster.
But he is the one who hired the 2 clueless boobs who are. So IMO that makes responsible. He takes the credit when anything good happens the buck should stop with a bloke who has been in charge for 22 unsucessful years.

Fitzi has to go.
If he couldn't see Williams was a priority signing and allowed other clubs to negotiate with him and ultimately lose him, then he's a joke.

Everyone is talking about Williams, John Mannah is a huge loss also. He will be a gun.
We had the chance to have a good young forward pack and now they are being picked apart.

The NRL is a joke. I hoe Parra, Knights, Penrith and Dragons stop investing in juniors and then tell clubs like Manly, Roosters and Sharks....you can go F%^k yourselves now because we're not producing them for you anymore, do it yourself.

I have had enough

This is going to happen time and time again. We have a huge nursery and it's inevitable teams like Manly & Roosters will pick the eyes of our teams.

Did you see this article ? Roosters finally have a local junior who actually plays FG !

I agree, Hagan has the large share of blame in this situation.

Ultimately he decides who to prioritise for next years roster & Williams should have been under lock and key a long time ago.

My problem with Fitzi is as CEO, he needs to stand up and make things happen in a situation like this. Just bloody make it happen. That's what a CEO get's paid to do.

All he seems to be doing is sitting on his hands and crying poor to the NRL that the salary cap needs to be cut - one of the stupidest comments to come from a CEO in recent memory. The guy has NFI.

I think we all have mate

no mate I really have.
I can see the NRL being dead in 10 years because the NRL supports clubs that add nothing to the NRL. Clubs that haven't got a good junior setup should be made to relocate or Merge.

In the end If their are clubs just buying players from other clubs and not producing any players locally, it just means the NRL is not growing.

I believe the NRL MUST unlock newe sponsorship dollars from other states.
I know it's been done before but we need a Perth, Adelaide etc. This time we shouldn't have 20 clubs though.

I's get rid of Manly, make them relocate.
Roosters and Souths, Merge or relocate
Dragons and Sharks, merge or relocate

Too many Sydney clubs and there is no growth in the game.
A-League will be bigger than NRL in a few years, then NRL will be last.

the inevitability of juniors leaving is a poor excuse imo... how often does a talent like Tony Williams come through the ranks?

In all seriousness can you imagine the relief when he finally calls it a day. It will pale into insignificance compared to the Brian Smith resignation.

Offcourse we will lose some of our Juniors, but to lose one was good is this bloke is the thing that pisses people off. Especially after the players we are losing.

And we we're after a guy like Ennis FFS. This club is a rabble, run by a pompus arrogant fossil who should have been gone over 10 yrs ago

i know last night was just canberra playing below their best .... and i know he was on the wing and they hardly ran at him .... and i know he's probably really a backrower, not a winger/centre and that requires alot more fitness and effort

but i'd be happy if we did what we needed to to keep him .... i am ok with losing oake to do it - would prefer to keep weller, altho is that in our control anyway? is he maybe stg bound anyway?

whatever - top thread - most intriguing remour EVA!!!

'Football Superstar' or something, kind of like a survivor/the apprentice type show with the winning kid getting a spot in sydney fc's youth team

I also spoke with a person from the club last night who should know what's happening and unless this person was lying to keep it hush I was told there is absolutely no way in hell that we are keeping Tony

is this thread still pumping...lol.

technically, Fitzy doesn't get involve in balancing a fulltime squad within the guidelines of the sallary cap, that's the job of the coaching departmnent and Andrew Hill, however, he can get involved if he choses to, and on this occasion he can just turn around to Andrew Hill and say, "Just make it happen at all cost" and the deed is done. he's done it before, can't see why he can't do it again.

that said, in my mind he was gone the moment Manly put out the media release and nothing will change my mind. we won't be making a counter offer and we have no intention in doing so, so I don't understand how this has blown up the way it has...

it won't be happening...No Way.

so no signings and we have no cash to keep our best juniors

i still think the club has done a bit for Williams over the years and he's a traitor for taking the money and running

the club should think long and hard about spending money bringing these guys through if loyalty is dead

let them pay for it themselves and se where they end up

it will also send a message to the NRL if junior numbers drop and the clubs like Manlly who do nothing for the game end up going arse up

Surely, the club has a few rich benefactors that could have thrown some money his way in return for a cushy job??

correct me if I'm wrong, but benefactors would mean they are already a corporate partner, ie: sponsor, if so? they can't be involved in any third party agreements.
