Changing the anthem... just because you feel like?

The story is about the reworded Judith Durham version from last night, not the indigenous language version.

Lols to everyone for not being able to read and comprehend, especially Timmah the tosser for having a go at someone else for not knowing something at the same time.

This issue is so fraught for so many reasons. The NRL unilaterally deciding to play a totally unofficial anthem, having an indigenous version that can only ever be from one tribe or language group and having an Australian anthem at club games featuring more and more non-Australian players who don't care and won't sing whatever version they come up with. It's better to leave it out altogether and definitely not pander to Chris f**king Sarra and his agenda.

As for the round, of course it's a cynical exercise from the NRL marketing department (can you believe there is such a thing?) and the clubs. They couldn't give a f**k about indigenous culture or anything related to it. If they cared about indigenous RL they would support bush football, and we know for a fact they are doing the opposite.

Because people love a fake outrage these days.

This might be the biggest non-event that the media have tried to be beat up in a long while.

It keeps the likes of the Daily Telegraph and Sky News in business and allows their seemingly endless line of right wing commentators to in a get into a lather about yet another PC brigade backed initiative.

Why stop at the Macarena?

The Nutbush.

Do The Bus Stop.

The Car Wash.

YMCA.

Love Shack.

And anything by the Black Eyed Peas 2003 and after.

I thought it was really good last night but f**k it, just change it to Khe Sanh and be done with it.
What a "smart" move. A song sung by a f**king Scotsman!!!

May as well get that Portuguese dude who won Eurovision get up at the GF and sing Nine Inch Nail's "Closer" in tribute to Joel Monaghan.

As much as I hate comparing anything American to Australia, there would be a civil war if there was an American Indian version of the "Star Spangled Banner".

Nothing brings Australian cultures together more than a Barnsy or Farnham hit, make one of their #1 hits the national anthem and get on wit the footy
Why not merge the anthem and one or our bogan hits?

Cue Adam Hills..
