Why is AFL territory so much more bigoted toward the other national game than NSW and Queensland are to RL's counterpart?

That may be the case but it has nothing to do with the NRL not even trying to develop the game down here.

Last night at 10:30 (half time of the Dragons and Broncos) a WIN News update comes on and the stupid tart announces that the Dragons have beaten the broncos "full details at midnight"! F***!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't say I was too dissappointed with the choice to go to the Dragons game (go you Sainters!!) but I was fairly surprised, and I can understand the frustration from the Storm fans (no sympathy though, you grappling QLD merkins).

The coverage down here is a huge slap in the face for anyone who loves Rugby League, regardless of allegiance.

This utter disdain shown to Rugby League fans should be high on Gallops agenda.

And if it is not, f**k OFF YOU STUTTERING MUPPET.

Stop talking sh!t and fix it.

Because the AFL have a competitive negotiating process.


No good the NRL rattling their sabre re: Decent coverage in outposts when 9 know they won't give the rights to anyone else.


The AFL write in clear clauses re: Coverage in the Northern States and ensure the stations follow it. If they want to keep the rights the next time around, they must stick to the contract.


Channel 9 has no such inducement. It's the NRL's fault for not standing up to the broadcaster as some such as El-D keep harping on.

It's all about money!

The only way to change Nines behavior ,as I see it, is to ask melbourne storm to explain why you should sign up for membership next year. If storm see a significant drop in membership accompanied by an explanation, they in turn can ask the 'NSWQLDRL' (beacuse thats what it realy is) for more funding.

More immediately,
.. the run though banner should express the anger at nine.
.. supporters should hold anti Nine banners.
.. protest outside Nine's Richmond studios ( 22 Bendigo st. Richmond).
.. tell players at the after game party how pissed off you are.
.. write to other tv networks (they love putting down the competition).

Or give up on a sport that does'nt give a f... about it's melbourne support!

What a f**kwit thing to say! Do you really think that those of us who are really passionate about our game, and our club, would drop out of our membership due to poor coverage from a television company? What rubbish!

I live in Adelaide, and as such, suffer the exact same treatment in television coverage as my Melbourne brethren. We get nothing. I stay up until 4am watching the Friday night games (which start at midnight here) and can only sometimes stay up to watch the Sunday night game. It sucks.

But to say that I would drop my membership support for my club due to television coverage misses the point completely. I support the Storm because they are my team. I have followed them since day one, and take on board all the crap that gets levelled against us. I accept the nonsense that gets chucked around about our tactics, about our News Ltd support, about Bellyache la la la....

End of the day, they are my team no matter what, and even evil television execs will not stop me supporting the boys, and definitely no internet post will encourage me to drop my membership.

Sorry cronker but I do make it to the ground most games, travelled to sydney for two grand finales and would not want to punish the storm per say. If you have a better way to change Nines behavior lets hear it because right now Nine AND the NRL are laughing at you, real passion means real sacrifice.

easy solution. Gallop puts in the contract that unless games are shown live in that market, the NRL can offer that market to another broadcaster

im sure teh ABC or fox would love to do live friday or near live sunday nrl games
