The accommodation in Mudgee is booking out. I found out yesterday that even Gulgong (about 30 kms north of Mudgee) is getting an influx of visitors.

Still GA tickets available, https://www.123tix.com.au/events/20924/2022-charity-shield-rabbitohs-v-dragons

There's also an outside chance of getting grandstand seats if you buy into the pre-match function and grandstand package - not sure how many they've got left. Pre-match is at the Occidental Hotel in Mudgee.

Charity Shield Package
  • Off-site function at the Oriental Hotel, Mudgee
  • Premium cocktail menu
  • 3-hour beverage package (beer, wine & soft drinks)
  • Q&A with ambassadors/past Dragons Legends
  • Reserved grandstand ticket for the match
  • Coach transfer from Oriental Hotel to Glen Willow Oval and return post-match
Function Times: 2.00pm – 5.00pm
Bus Departure to Stadium: 5.00pm & 5.30pm
Gates Open: 4.00pm
NRL Kick-Off: 7.00pm

To find out more you'd have to contact the Dragons sales office on 02 8566 4667.

Bloody hell, 3 hours of drinking piss and then 1 .5 hours at the ground before the game starts. Could be some boisterous fans in the grandstand !

Good to hear that the accommodations are filling, that shall ensure a good turnout for the the yearly event and hopefully a good donation to both the St.George Hospital and South Sydney Hospital .

Enjoy yourselves gents and have a beer for me , but not one for the road .

I spent today in Stanthorpe Gareth. Great place. Full of wineries, cheese and granite boulders, millions of years old.

Heading to Tingha tomorrow as part of the quest - I hear a great St George winger came from there. Then Narrabri, then a swim in the Pilliga artesian bore pool. Then Gulgong. Then Mudgee.
