Great win against Spartak - nice goal from Yuri... next Wolves. Don't want any complacency. 3 points will do. And no injuries please. Good to see Bos back after such a long layoff!

Decent win against Wolves followed by a rubbish performance against Blackburn... yet we still managed to take all 3 points. Yuri is on fire! Spartak at home next in the Champions League followed by a trip to Anfield in the Premier League. 5 points clear - bring it!

Hopefully Frank will be back for the Liverpool game

The team still look a bit out of sorts, but they're getting results regardless...

Great win against Spartak... now we're through to the knockout rounds, we can rest players for the final 2 group games. Big game against Liverpool coming up. Lamps is still out but should be back next week. Malouda pulled up okay but Essien is in doubt. I'm a little worried as Liverpool have put a few wins together recently, and we've not been at our best (despite winning). Hopefully we can take all 3 points.

Drogba tests positive for malaria

By ESPNsoccernet staff

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Didier Drogba has been suffering with malaria.

Drogba is believed to have had malaria for several weeks and, having been left out of the starting line-up for the game against Liverpool as a result of a fever, tests on Monday night confirmed the presence of the disease.

However, Ancelotti revealed Drogba is now fit again and is likely to be available to face Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

"We found out last night when blood tests showed he had malaria," Ancelotti said. "I don't know where he got it from.

"He had a problem. He has this virus and, obviously, he lost power and training. He lost his condition. He's had treatment and now he's okay. He'll come back immediately in the best condition.

"He suffered, obviously, because he wasn't 100% but now, after treatment, he'll be better. He had malaria. He had the tests in the last day, and they showed this kind of virus. Now he's good.

"I don't know where he got it from. I gave him a few days off and he went on holiday for a few days, and then he has malaria, but it's over now. He's okay."

A spokesman for the club added: "The course of medication he is on now will clear it up in three days. This type of malaria will not come back. We are not sure where and when he picked it up.

"It can lie dormant in the body for a long time. He is safe to play with malaria.
"When he first fell ill, we treated him symptomatically. He had a virus and it has come up and gone down, and then come up again.

"We ran tests on all the tropical diseases and viruses but, because it was dormant, there was not enough parasitic activity in his blood to pick up malaria in the initial tests.

"You re-test and re-test and when the results came back last night the parasitic activity in his blood had reached a level where it showed up."

Another unconvincing win, but three points is three points

A rather up-and-down game from Bison - scores the winner and then gets marched...

Summed up well Jimbo. Hopefully Lamps is back for Sunderland (f**k, we say that every week!).

Agreed. Assitant Ray Wilkins has been cut :( Shame. Dunno what's behind it (nor does he after hearing a quick interview).

Not looking good. Terry and Alex out for extended periods (i.e. months) leaving Ivanovic and Bruma as our only "senior" CBs... and by the looks of it, Carlo has no confidence in Bruma preferring to play Paulo at CB (a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge mistake). Don't wanna be alarmist or anything but I think our title hopes are basically done.

Alex was given permission to be on the bench for the Brazil match? If he is injured why do that?

Seems strange.

Your injuries ain't to bad, United lost about 8 defenders last year!

Also you have promoted you chief opposition scout Michael Emenalo to assistant manager.
