The rumours persist - according to various reports we are now lining up a £40m bid for Rooney

Presumably we would offload Ba to help fund it, although I'm not sure how much we would get

KDB looked class in his 28 minutes. I can't wait to see him get an extended run. Knee injury not too bad either.

Yep, sounds like a dodged bullet there

Good to see Schwarzer get a start too, and keep a clean half-sheet

DE BRUYNE INJURY UPDATE

Posted on: Mon 22 Jul 2013

Kevin De Bruyne will return to London overnight for an MRI scan, after which we will have a clearer picture of his injury.

The Belgian international came off during the first half of Sunday evening's win over the Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur, shortly after scoring the second goal in a 4-1 win.

Sensible approach. Give him a spell, check him out fully and if he's okay he can meet up again with the rest of the lads in Indianapolis

Villa home game moved from the Super Cup weekend to 21 August. So we have two home games in four days to kick off the season

Good warmup for the trip to Old Trafford on the 26th, which will itself be a good warmup for the Super Cup

I'm still waiting for us to make a move on a midfielder. Still too thin in centre despite the move back to one holding player.

This would be a good idea

Chelsea's McEachran lined up for loan move to Sociedad (where midfielders Alonso and Arteta made their names)

Real Sociedad want to take Chelsea's Josh McEachran on loan.

The talented midfielder is one the Chelsea coaching staff had high hopes for but he remains far from manager Jose Mourinho's first team.

McEachran spent last season on loan at Championship Middlesbrough but despite appearing on a consistent basis, Chelsea have continued to strengthen their midfield.
In addition to Michael Essien's return from a loan spell at Real Madrid and Kevin de Bruyne's from Werder Bremen, the 2012 European champions have signed Andre Schurrle and Marco van Ginkel to create even greater competition for places and end any first-team hopes McEachran, 20, may have had.

Poor Josh would start at 15 other clubs in the premier league. I'd like to see him at West Brom or Swansea prove his worth like Lakaku.

Willian and Toure are getting loans on the continent too.

Real Sociedad is still a good test for him though, and involves Champions League football

You get the feeling that this is his last chance to make a name for himself though...

STIPE PERICA SIGNS

Posted on: Thu 01 Aug 2013

Chelsea Football Club has today (Thursday) completed the signing of Stipe Perica.

The 18-year-old striker moves to Stamford Bridge from NK Zadar in the Croatian top flight.

Perica [pictured centre] made his debut for Zadar in September 2012, and since then has gone on to make 23 appearances, scoring 10 goals.

He was part of the Croatia side eliminated at the knockout stages of the recent Under-20 World Cup in Turkey, where he made three appearances and scored one goal.
