He's okay. He's not that good. He took a team that finished fourth the year previous and ended up finishing fifth.

You have to remember that the team that finished fourth had Modric, van der Vaart, a fit Kaboul and two strikers who were actually playing well. They also weren't really contending with Chelsea, who finished 6th.

As big a difference as Bale makes, his game-winning goals wouldn't have been necessary if we still had Modric and van der Vaart, or at least one in-form striker.

Sorry, but realistically, AVB did really well given the circumstances.

Every single team you mentioned either isn't playing to their abilities or is still gelling with new players. Pretty silly to imply that only Chelsea can improve.
