So it seems the deal is 8 years.

If so, all this shit about $1.6 million a year is crap. Its $1.25 million a year

I understand that Titans was 1.3 mil per year.

I understand that the Manly deal is 10 mil for 6 years (1.67 mil per year), with a 2 year option in DCE's favour if fit.

Apparently his first deal was 1 million then Manly reduced it 700k. That is when the Titans and Sharks swooped and then Foran left.

Manly tried to shaft DCE, but now DCE has...

...become a one club player unlike Glen Stewart and Choc Watmough.

dce is a prime example of the over rated dross getting lined up to replace the thurstons and stars of yesteryear - if hes worth the money quoted then whats s Johnson worth? or roger ts? hes a kevin sinfield in the way that he will be great for manly week in week out but be torn apart at rep level- the kangaroos will become a 3rd rate side relying on the likes of dce in the face of nz and england

DCE could've waited another day or so and you Poms would've paid more than Manly

Who cares about rep performances? Like most league fans I care about my club above anything else. As long as DCE performs for Manly that's all I care about. I couldn't care how he performs for the 2 headed red necked banana benders!. GET OVER IT ALL YOU SOOKS - He is remaining loyal to the best modern day club.

DCE isn't much better then him, just Sezer has been at a crap team and doesn't get hyped up by the media, don't forget his one of the best goal kickers in the comp as well, I think if they knew Elgy was going to go as well as he he has they wouldnt have even gone for DCE

Just asking. How many premierships and CC medals does Sezer have?

Makes what we've been paying and going to pay JT look pretty good IMO.

Says a lot about the current crop of up and coming halves that this beady eyed little creep can demand that much money.

Manly are throwing the kitchen sink at this bloke and some............. Interesting to see what Manly fans opinions are on DCE and Foran and whome they would prefer to keep. I personally would prefer Foran........

Prior to this season from a talent stand point I always preferred to keep DCE, I felt more confident in him taking over the lion's share of playmaking duties. But Foran seemed like a future captain who gave 200% at all times. After watching Manly play with one or the other in certain games this season I believe the right call has been made, Foran has looked like he doesn't give a toss this season.

Also have to laugh at articles about DCE not being captaincy material because of this. I'm sure the current Australian and Queensland captain had no idea what was going on at his club during the biggest salary cap rort in NRL history

As I said earlier in this thread, why would the Manly club or Manly fans give 2 shits how he performs for QLD and Aus? Manly are paying him to play for their club and if he performs for Manly like he has in the past (2 GFs and a CC medal in 4 years), then they'll be happy.

You know that great movie The Sting well Cherry played his cards perfectly.....He stung MANLY

If you want to talk about getting stung, here's some real examples. The Eels by Watmough - he is almost gone and he is in the first year of a 4 year contract. The Bulldogs by T-Rex, need I go on, These are real examples. Both Manly and DCE are happy as are the supporters.

Don't waste your breath with these morons, they are simply jealous and hate to see anything good happen to Manly.

It is a 6 year deal with a 2 year option in DCEs favour, there is plenty of time for this to go bad for Manly, not saying it will but it is a fairly large risk. When has a 5 year contract(or longer if there are any?) ever worked out in the clubs favour?

I couldn't care less I'm just giving my opinion, I think Manly was taken for a ride though...But good luck to DCE...
