But not one club has taken legal action against the numerous players that have backflipped?
Frankly that fact alone says that this simply can't be the case.
That's what f**king stumps me about this whole issue,..
There are 2 reasons that I can surmise that these clubs don't go further...
1 - The players haven't truly signed any binding contracts, maybe they just agree to terms or sign useless letters of intent. If that's the f**king case... The club deserves to lose the player because they shouldn't be announcing a signing based on that.
2 - Taking court action against the player/NRL would not be worth the cost... Especially considering that if everything goes your way... Your final prize is a player who's made it very clear publicly that he doesn't want to play for your club.
But there is most certainly scope for a club to take legal action if they wanted to.... And who knows... Maybe with the influx of private owners in the game a club might go through with it just to make a point and save face...
