I come on here and have friendly banter with the knights supporters about who should captain and here you are acting like a f**king absolute hero.

The fact is, Lockyer may have the (C) next to his name, but someone else will be driving the boys on the field, and doing all the communicating.

Lead by example, what a load of crap. I'd say that every player in the Australian team will be putting in a good performance(except Carroll and Berrigan), so will they all be leading by example?

Carrol was great in the final, yes, but in the first three games he was useless.

Unlike you, I don't mind if Johns becomes captain or not. My point is, he would be a better captain than Lockyer.

Even if he is not the official captain, he will be forced to act as one to make up for Lockyer's incapability of communicating.

Someone needs to talk and organise for Lockyer. Lately it has been Kimmorley, in the future it will be Johns.

IF Johns had captained australia for 10-11 times and then was injured for a yr and came back then i would EXPECT johns to captain. I would not care less.
FACT of the matter is :
Johns has only captained australia twice and then went down with injury. In that time Lockyer has been the leader for 2 overseas roo tours and has been succesful. Johns has been out of the game for too long, and doesnt have the games left in him that Lockyer does.
In all australian teams there is not just ONE talker. In yrs past (like 1994) we have had Ricky Stuart, Daley, Meninga, Lazarus in the australia team at one time and ALL have been talkers, but Mal was the captain.
Lockyer is not a mute who just stands in the background and doesnt say a word. Sure, he made not have the fiery personality like a Tallis, Lewis or Johns, but that doesnt make him ANY LESS worthy as captain of the OZ league team.

I agree he should be captain for those reasons, however what I am saying is that Johns is a better captain figure. I think it would be nice to see Johns as captain, however I won't be complaining if Lockyer is.
