When Adam knew he had this medical condition (prob had it for a loong time) he should have let the authorities know as soon as he made grade.

well then why at the time, was his medical condition NOT made known to the poeple who matter? If he had NOTHING to hide the he should have gone to ASDA or the NRL and explained his situation BEFORE it all blew up in his face DICKHEAD.

Because he was embarrassed about his condition and afraid that childish individuals would make jokes about him and his condition. Once his condition was revealed all the jokes started. I'm sure you wouldn't want the whole world to know you couldn't get it up, produce sperm, etc.

He sustained the condition during a reserve grade game early 1995 while at the Roosters. Went home after the match, collapsed to the ground. Almost died that night. He returned the game in early 1997 at the Knights. He then tested positive early 1998.


The ARL would have known he sustained something as there would have been an insurance payout since it was occured during a match.

Actually if he told ASDA it would of done nothing for him, he would needed to have told the governing body (ARL/NRL) and then his Club regarding this for it to be approved use and it is very easy for the media outlets to obtain such information

If both are to fit to play when the team is picked, Lockyer will still get the nod ahead of Johns simply because Bennetts the coach and he gets last say (apparently).

I prefer to see Johns as captain though, I miss his passion and competitiveness when he plays rep footy

You might think that league is the be all and end all in newcastle, but their is a bigger picture out there

Newcastle produces the most first grade players by a big margin. Canberra is a distant 2nd. In a way it is the be all and end all of league.

Using Johns injury concerns against him is absolutely idiotic. Could someone explain what happened to lockyer the first year he was required to defend??? And that was even with Carroll watching his back. Bennett doesn't want lockyer picking up injurys does he? Why doesn't he have faith in lockyers defense? I never saw Johns or Fittler require there lock forward to tackle for them or watch there backs. Lockyer= pathetic defender. "here boy's, this is how you get trampled by a british centre" :lol: Johns will drive the biggest prop into the ground and with that one act inspire his whole team to lift there game. Excellent captaincy. Using the fact that lockyer has captained them to series wins is also a lost cause. 5 of the 7 wins were close games. With Johns has captain the games would have all been over at halftime. He does that much more defensive, attacking and leadership work then lockyer. Remember we are talking about someone who......

a) lets webcke do his captaincy work
b) lets carroll do his defensive work
c) let kimmorley do his attacking work

Johns does them all himself. A true captain and leader.
Johns has a pretty decent record against lockyer at origin too. ;-)
Lockyers record at nrl level. He may not have been captain but he was there go to man. Brisbane hasn't one an important game since langer retired. Lockyers fault. He goes missing, nowhere to be seen. Johns is there ball in hand 6 tackles a set trying his very best to create that special magic that lockyer could only dream have having.
