It is a foolish move to have Anderson at the club. They is one breath short of another heart attack. What happens when his health fails him again? The circus then continues....

Are you the guys Dr? Do you Know something we don't about his health situation? Many people go on and live long lives after having a heart attack - hell my Grandfather had 6 in his lifetime, with bypasses etc - lived until he was in his 80's, and got beaten by cancer......

seriously - Why death ride the idea? What harm could it do?

I just think it shows how incompetent the board where in appointing him in the first place and it was only 3 months ago there where rumours of an extension.

To sack an experienced coach for an untried rookie that didn't even have lower grade experience was a political appointment and they should be held accountable for it.

While I hope some good comes from it, my first reaction is it is another political appointment to take the wind out of the sails of those wanting SK sacked right now.
Every chance you get you can't help take a swipe at the board, DA got punted nearly two yrs ago i really think it's time you move on, maybe then you can tackle your everest, the sacking of Fitzy which i doubt you will ever truly get over....... ;-)

I'm happy that the club is trying something different and introducing some new idea's, particluarly having Ray Price involved.
As with most other decisions that our club makes I hope they are for the best and support them.
I read a tweet saying Chris would only be there a couple of days a week for the rest of the year to start with and I expect SK is still the boss, so I reckon this is just another massive blow up that gets air time cause its at Parra, I mean Joey was brought in a couple of weeks back too.
Ray Price I'm intersted in, keen to see what other people think he can bring in a coaching capacity in 2012, I'm sure he can provide some drive and even some mongrel, technically dunno? is defense that technical?

Obviously SK trusts CA. Can it hurt for SK to have someone that experienced to bounce ideas off?

IMO Anderson doesn't suffer fools, and has a similar mindset to SK. Hopefully it's a matter of "two heads are better than one".

Let's see how it goes for the rest of this season (we have nothing to lose) before we criticise it.

Id suggest his role may be limited - game has changed significantly since he hung up the boots - my thoughts are that perhaps he's been brought in to instill pride in the jersey.....Parra has forever neglected / ignored their legends of the past - perhaps this is something Kearney is trying to get into his players - the history of the place etc?

Parramatta legend Ray Price is set to join the club's coaching staff.
The man affectionately known as 'Mr Perpetual Motion' has been offered a chance to come aboard to help the Eels, as will former Australian Test coach Chris Anderson. The two-time premiership-winning mentor has agreed to join the club as coaching director on a short-term deal, which could be extended if his appointment helps the club climb up the NRL ladder.
Price will sign up on a consultancy role to help mentor the forwards as the club beefs up its brains trust. It's hoped the changes will provide a boost ahead of tomorrow's home clash with Newcastle.

Price said he was excited to finally have some input into his beloved Blue and Golds.
‘‘It would be good to get them to learn how to win again. And to keep winning,’’ Price said today. ‘‘I've been trying to be a part of this club, to do things for years. It's always fallen on deaf ears.
‘‘I kept persisting at them, I kept pushing and wanting ... and now we're finally going to have a go.’’
The former club captain insisted besieged coach Kearney is ‘‘the man’’ to turn around Parramatta's fortunes and wouldn't rule out the prospect of an unlikely finals appearance.
‘‘We might struggle to get there, but it won't be through lack of trying,’’ Price said. ‘‘I can teach them about the culture of the game, things they need to do to make them wiser on the field. I can show them a bit in defence.
‘‘The whole game is about believing in yourself. If the Eels are playing really good football, then rugby league is successful.’’
The Sun-Herald revealed recently that Parramatta powerbrokers had offered Kearney the opportunity to work with Jason Taylor or Graham Lowe, options the Kiwi mentor knocked back. However, there was a need to bolster the coaching staff at the Eels following the departure of assistant Matt Cameron to Penrith and Kearney opted for Anderson.
The pair are close from their time in Melbourne, where they won a premiership 13 years ago. Anderson, a two-time premiership-winning coach, hasn't been involved in the NRL since parting ways with the Roosters midway through the 2007 season. Anderson's latest involvement in the game has been a role alongside Max Krilich at the NSW Origin Legends organisation.

Two legends, and maybe sevens but he did get a loan out of the club and they never chased him up to repay it.
I remember when all this started anew, I believe Stagger and I had a chat to Zaps or DK about the Ray Price thing.

Pricey had always been upset he wasn't made chairman of the board like Fitzy was when Fitzy retired. Even though he did win a seat on the board twice between 1987 and 1995 IIRC.

Pricey's ire was raised once again, when he asked to speak with the players one pre-game or one training session during Brian Smith's tenure.

Pricey had his say, and apparently Brian told Zaps to exclude him from any further contact with the team as he didn't like what was being said or the like. When zaps told Ray he wasn't welcome he took it to Fitzy, who back Brian’s call.

Now we all know Brian was a master of the mind f**k so I can understand he would be interested in the players mental state, but again this is only a story I had heard, many moons ago now.

Having said all of that, Ray has never been disposesed of his self belief, something many admire him for.

We will see where this leads.

I have to say, this latest drama has made watching my beloved Eels play even more interesting. Will it improve the team? Will we now go on winning streak? Will it be enough to save SK at the end of the year? Or will the whole castle come crashing down?

What will be very interesting will be what the Telecrap's go-to man, Ray Price, has to say should things not improve or even get worse on the field. Watch this space...

Yeah Ray Price has never been one to hold back when it comes to speaking his mind. Should be interesting.
