PARRA FAN how can you so confidently say that Armit would've been playing first grade regularly if Pearson, Moi Moi and Kafusi hadn't signed up? What difference did signing them up for this year make? The best players play first grade.
Chris Armit started the year in first grade if I'm not wrong (I'm not) - and he got dropped as the season progressed. What is it about him that impresses you so much? He's a no-frills worker who hasn't got the size to play prop, nor enough skills to play in the back-row. He's a long-shot in terms of being a good first grader, but he may well fill the no-frills workhorse role pretty well.
I think he'll play first grade if he's with the Dogs next year - their stocks of props are pretty thin right now! But I don't see him doing anything incredible...
The best players play first grade, but not according to Smith. Armit wouldve definatley played first grade if we didnt sign those players. Smith saw something in him when he first played in 2003, gave him a go and kept him there, then he got injured. And then the start of the season he was using him wrong. I dont know why he got dropped, Smith does some stupid things, cause Armit only played 20 minutes and wasnt used wrong.
Have you seen him play at all, cause by what you're saying its like you've never seen him at all. He's 190cm, and weighs around 100kg, whats wrong with that. He's got potential and at least goes forward pretty well. He's makes a lot of tackles week in week out. The problem with this year he comes on and makes a good break, makes 5 tackles and then gets taken off. :? He hasnt had much of a chance to impress. 20 minutes is just not enough. And as I said Smith just use him right.
You cant tell me Pearson, Moi Moi and Kaufusi are better than him. Pearson is too old and too slow and is an easy target. Moi Moi makes one break and then is puffed out straight after that, he's not a first grader. Just an impact player. Kaufusi is almost the same, but makes too many mistakes.
So there you go, watch the PL next Saturday night and see for yourself.
