why would canberra juniors qualify for city? canberra isn't the city...

all canberra juniors are country players. basically any player playing their junior footy outside of sydney qualifies for country.

BTW, if bird is suspended surely tongue is next in line for the 2nd row position...

Both players have their merits, and should have been there in there respective positions ahead of who was selected.

What do you expect me to say? He's hardly been a first grade regular over the last 3 years, barely anyone outside manly would have paid him any attention at all before he started playing so well this year.

Like I said, both players have their merits, and should have been selected above those in the country side.

i would have had both Glen Stewart and Alan Tongue in the country side they both deserve to be there and are both different type of players...

And Victor no ones ever going to top Tongue in the tackle count unless he doesnt play the full 80 mins guys a machine aswell...

The problem is for Tonguey, there is a plethora of good locks running around that are eligible for nsw, Maitua and O'Donnell are two that come to mind, that being said, im more than happy for him not to play, especially when he says things like this in a canberra times article after not being selected..."I’ve always just wanted to play well for the club – I still just love having my name read out in first grade each week"

You can think Tongue's better, that's fine. Your logic that Tongue is automatically better because he's higher on the tackle count though is worry.
