City v Country

Is there any merit in staging a city v country match?

The way i figure it would work, is that its open to rookies only (or those in their 1st and 2nd seasons, depending on numbers)
And it would be like an encouragement 'origin' to those who arent likely to make state sides.

I suppose everyone would have to declare their 'origin' - maybe by where you went to high school or something?

Then possibly if anyone stood out enough they may get called up to the state team. At worst - it would give the Glenn Morrisons and John Skandalisuses of the forum world a chance to feel important one week outta the year

Thats a great idea, with 2 weeks to go to Kiwi's and kangaroo's battle, shouldn't the threads go up for the teams?

Rep matches are open to all players and quite often rookies get selected because more experienced players don't always make themselves available.

The PVPs are a great showcase for rookies as well.

In any case, the draw for 2006 (including the rep matches) has already been fully settled: http://f7s.leagueunlimited.com/draw2006.asp

We had a City v Country match in 2004 but I can't see where it would fit in this year.

maybe, just maybe, at seasons end we could have a Forum 7's MVP's match.
The refs from this season select the players.

There will be 7 players to a team. to help organise the teams you will have two pools.

half the teams in pool A (which 7 MVP's will come from to form one MVP team) and the other half of the comps teams in pool B (where 7 other MVP's will be chosen to form the other team)

What team goes in what pool is completely random and should be settled in some random as piss manner. Than the refs can get to work selecting the players.

Sounds awesome to me.

Ok then, lets do it!

Over to you Willow
