No - no lightning bolts, thank god.

Northern Storm polo shirts probably still on sale at Norths leagues...

Mud'n'blood might have a copy of the 80 GF, or know someone who does.

I agree hazy that white Norfs jersey was crap. If you ask me, any jersey that is dominated by white is ordinary. That's why I wish Wynnum ditch the white out of their jersey and go back to just being red and green.

BTW, you gents may be interesting to hear that the Pine Rivers RSL (purchased by Ribot a few months ago) has become Norths LeaguesClub.

Pepe - the polo wasdark blue with the Norths Devil on (in front of) the 'Storm' cloud.

Good to hear the Norths Leagues club is in the outer north..

Pepe, was that Norths 1980 design? They were still using it in 1987, can't remember who the sponsor was at that time.

i'm pretty sure that guernsey was the 1980 design, todays top is navy on the shoulders with two yellow stripes in the centre about 5cms thick each,i saw a kid wearing one at a storm game last year and it's by far the best guernsey running around,if you are interested they sell them at norths leagues club, pretty good value given the strength of your pound,i can't help you with the sponsors though.

cheers pepe

I may be about to douse the excitement here, lads. But I have a sneaky suspicion (which I'll confirm tonight) that that design was first introduced in 1981 after the 1980 GF classic. But as I said, I'll have to confirm it.

They definitely had this strip for the 1990 "should-a" GF ....

Just thinking about Norfs and their GF record, they have a penchant for classics.

1998 - coming back from 16-blot down against Wests to win 35-16. (Perhaps the biggest GF turn-a-round ever)

1990 - coming back from 2-10 down against Valleys to unluckily lose 16-17 in a rough-house classic !!! ("Someone said the call was Anzac, someone else said it was 99 ..... I heard neither one" Rod Tiley - channel 9 sideline commentator)

1980 - the day Smokin' Joe beat Souths !!! A premiership they were never supposed to win.

1970 - the extra-time legend match (2nd one ever) only lost to Normie Clarke's boot, after Norths scored the first try of the match in extra-time.

C'aaaaaarn the Devils .......
