can't believe Sinclair's wasn't on Nine's list... anyway I made a thread like this a while back and posted a few catches. A catch I really rate is Pasupati's in the domestic OD final a few years back... I may be overrating it because I was at the ground and haven't seen a replay since, but to me it is the best catch I have ever seen

Slightly off topic: KFC classic catches

I may be a little bit slow but could someone please explain something for me, when this competition comes up the commentator always says something along the lines of "The first correct answer received"...

Does that mean if you're the first person to vote for C and it is nominated as the classic catch you win? All the other votes are used just to work out which catch was the best? Sounds a bit silly to me.

On topic: The guy in the crowd who caught it while talking on his mobile.

I think they take the first random entry for the catch that got the most votes.

it was said on the cricket show today that they have been sent other classic catches which they will sought through and add the new ones sometime during the boxing day test

One where Michael Slater was fielding at short leg against England, some bloke went for a slog sweep, and in recoiling from the shot, he clasped it to his chest.

Totally fluke, but classic nonetheless.

I remember back in 1991/1992, England were flogging the hell out of New Zealand, I'm fairly sure this was the third test at the Basin Reserve where Jones and Wright got tons and New Zealand saved the match... Martin Crowe is fielding at midwicket, Phil De Fretias goes on the hook off either Watson or Cairns, Crowe chases back from midwicket and over his shoulder dives full length and takes it inches off the ground.

Another ripper was Roger Twose at Eden Park in 1997/98 against South Africa in an ODI, I think it was Darryl Cullinan off someone like Chris Harris, hoicks it miles to cow corner, Twose comes around from deep midwicket and takes a miracle catch. Also Murray Goodwin caught by Craig McMillan at Eden Park, Goodwin launches into a full blooded cut stroke, McMillan dives miles to his right full stretch and takes a screamer. Another one was off Chris Cairns in 1991/92, Adam Parore's second test I believe with Ian Smith out injured, Cairns slants one into leg, Chris Lewis gets an outside edge, Parore's already gone a mile down leg side, dives full pelt to the right and catches it behind him.

But Sinclairs and the two mentioned of Nathan Astle's are unbelievable catches.
