Jack Gibson, Wayne Bennett, Tim Sheens, Phil Gould & many other succesful coaches have done ok playing league without scaling to great heights and staying at those heights as Rugby League players for much of their top grade careers but they all went on to becoming brilliant and successful coaches - Your comment about Kearney and his top grade track record does not mean players will gravitate to him, respect him and will do anything to win for him. Not saying they won't, because they could, but they might not either.
Also..... Don't forget the two club elections coming along over the next 6 months or so. These elections could possibly rip the guts of the club apart. Two very different cultures challenging for supremacy has the potential to tear the very fabric of the club, the players, the staff, the fans and the board into shreds. Those behind and supporting the new $$$$$$ (materialistic/superficial) culture will not go away without a huge fight BUT I have great confidence the traditional culture that made this club is on the rise and will covet all aspects of the clubs horizon forevermore.
