Who says that we'd want him ?

he hasn't turned into a bad player overnight mate. he still busts tackles and makes impact. his heart probably isn't at manly. he did try and reneg his deal to stay with us before he left.

i guess that is the difference between t-rex and kelly though, t-rex is an eel through and through, kelly is not.

That was a beat up mate. He never wanted out of his deal at Manly.

I was actually very impressed that the club offered Kelly what they thought he was worth and will not be increasing it.

How can people just say give him what he wants and then criticise Hagan's signing decisions which were more or less if he wanted a player he offered whatever he could to keep them no matter how much he thought they were worth. It wlll turn out in tears.

Lets face it the guy has hasnt even played a full season of 20's and I know he has talent but you cant get into a bidding war with them. If he wants the money then good luck to him. We have an offer on the table and thats all we can do. $150,000 a year can buy you proven quality first graders.

On another note I belive John Morris is off to England next season, so Tigers may need a 5/8.

on another note, I remember there was more hype for a kid named Darryl Trindal in the early 90's..

Surely we can give him a 2yr contact at 150k yr... Wing would want double that!!! And thats what you want from your players isnt it wanting to play every minute of every game... maybe going off at the coach wasnt the best but hey he wants to play!!!

What has he done to deserve a contract of that magnitude?

If the Tigers want him that bad, let him go.

He'll probably get stuck playing on the wing anyway given Sheens selection policies.

would love to see him stay at parra and earn his keep but if he decides to chase the money then let him go. i stated elsewhere that he looks like the most natural ball player to come through the club in ages, i don't think $150k at this stage is what he is worth. i don't mind the club paying overs for him but nothing more than $80k with incentives, (maybe $100k).

let the Storm or Tigers have him for that price, he has done nothing in NRL yet so why pay for potental? every time we have done that in the past we have been burnt.

It's times like now where we shoot ourselves in the foot by paying people overs before they are established. I say good riddance go elsewhere and chase the dollars , i would rather lament and say we lost one then pay overs for a player yet to prove his worth.

Nah you can't blame him for taking the money.

If a club want to offer it, no you can't but with that money comes a weight of expectation. Hopefully his family and manager advise him what is best for his career rather than what is best in terms of money.

While we are at it if he does sign let us offer Wayde Dunley or Blake Lazarus an incentive deal to come across to the Eels if we are after a bargain. They've showed some promise but spent more time behind hookers, centres and locks being used in the halves when they should have.......

If he signs elsewhere, he should rot on the bench.

Why develop him anymore than we need to if he is moving on?

Why develop him anymore than we need to if he is moving on?

Why punish the other players in the NYC team by removing one of the players who can help them actually win games?

Having said that - we're 3rd last anyhow... so if we don't win this weekend, perhaps it IS time to bench Kelly for the rest of the year...
