Robinson for mine.
Although Macguire has done exceptionally well, he has had his team for a longer period than Robbo, and is rebuilding on last year's efforts.
Robinson has done wonders with a new team in the first year.

I remember a few months ago...people were saying Robbo who?
"Roosters will run last, Chooks for the spoon, etc, etc..."
Well they have certainly eaten their words.

The reasons you think Maguire won't get it for is why I think he will get it. Because he has shown that he is not just a flash in the pan coach for one year and the next year his team under performs. He shows he demands consistency and professionalism. If robbo does this again next year with Easts then he will be coach of the year in my mind next year but for now he could be like Daniel Anderson and do well one year and his troops completely collapse the next year.

Madge for coach of the year!

I voted for Other, because Ricky Stuart is clearly the Coach of the Year.

Needs more Steve Kearney. What he has done at Brisbane has been amazing.

Seriously - if the Knights manage to somehow jag a top 2 spot, Bennett has to be a consideration. But ATM, Maguire. Robbo got a team half bought for him based on a GF side from 2 years ago. He's a silver for mine.

The funniest thing is that also Matt Elliot could being contention if the Warriors keep improving.

being a Tigers man its Mick Potter, in six months he has broken up the boys club, introduced accountability for all players and generally de-sheened the place.

Not many rookie coaches would have had the balls to do what he has done.

But on results alone very hard to go past what Trent Robinson has done at Bondi, never a easy job coaching at the chooks, lots of fragile egos to please

I'll say Robinson.

But as a Penrith fan, Cleary has done a bloody good job, considering the personnel lost in the lead up to the start of the season, as well as the ever growing injury toll.

Trent Robinson without question. He's done a fantastic job.

 had to laugh. I think toovey's been shit. He's not improved the roster or the team at all imo.

We lost King and Gulavao during the season and I doubt anyone could find a better value front rower than Lawrence this year. Fa'aoso has also been a great buy. Hiku has been brought in from the Warriors and performed admirably in place of Stewart. Manly have also played the majority of the season without Glenn Stewart, Brett Stewart, Foran, DCE or Watmough (some of them only missing for a game or 2 here and there but the top players have barely taken the field together). At full strength they're still a pretty formidable unit. Overall, the defense has improved under Toovey as well.

I dont think Toovey has been that bad but you don't win coach of the year because you kept the premiers from falling apart, ridiculous he is being discussed.

I'm not suggesting he's coach of the year, I'm simply responding to other comments made. I'd have Robinson at the top of the list followed by Maguire and then there's not a lot of contenders, maybe Cleary? He's done a pretty good job with a squad that was widely tipped for the spoon which has been hit pretty hard with injuries.

5th means nothing at this point, there's 1 win separating 5th and 11th

I was hinting at the fact it's too early to call

If Newcastle crawl up into 4th spot we all think Wow Bennett did well with that lot. If they drop to 11th we all think Wow, what a pile of shite, Bennetts' lost his touch

As Loudy said even Matt Elliot is a chance if the Warriors keep improving and that's unbelievable after getting shafted by a million points by Penrith earlier in the season.
