I don't think Des is interested in any coaching job at the moment, full stop.

Afterall - I think the guy has had two massive pay outs in the last five years because he's been released early from his last two contracts?

Anyway - when can we expect Shane Flanagan to be announced as our new long term head coach ?

There was a time when even Hooks coaching could have landed a premiership. I’m not concerned old Hasler isn’t in the running. The problem is we let flannagan get away with jack all when he came to ‘help’ us. Now we want to give him the top job? I just dunno…

I reckon Dean Young will be announced next Tuesday after the public holiday. They won’t want to announce it this week for a fear of a riot at Kogarah Jubilee on Saturday.

If it was Flanagan, you would think it would have already been announced pronto after the Ryles stuff up.

Makes us all very nervous... after the public holiday on Tuesday, the main focus in the will be back on the Origin teams being named and critiqued (Bulldogs vs Eels game is on Monday), and we have the bye next week as well.

"It's so fantastic - a club legend is coming home" !

So what makes Dean Young any better than Ben Hornby, John Morris , Shaun Wane or Madge Maguire?

This is exactly what I thought. Unless they're waiting to do it after Manly play tonight, so announce it tomorrow morning before our game. That's the other thinking imo.

The Dragons don't announce anything on weekends, I can't see that happening. Most likely the announcement will be Wednesday next week. After all, the team list comes out on Tuesday and we can't have two announcements in one day, too much work!

The sticking point appears to be Doust and to a lesser extent Haran.

If Flanno is appointed it will be due to an agreement regarding Haran and what role he plays moving forward.

Every man and his dog knows we need an experienced coach, not a rookie. Most of the BOD are in agreement with this also. Flanno is the last experienced coach standing.

Just my take on things as they stand. They could appoint Young, but I think they already know the lack of support from the fans will only drive membership numbers down and any loss will be amplified as 'told you so'.

Anyway, it's our BOD, and they have no rhyme or reason to any decision they seem to make.
