We also have James Schiller who has not attracted mainstream media headlines just yet but also has a good step and pace and can pass + Dell's son. Fullback future is good at the Dragons.
It is now selecting and nurturing the right one as you cant keep em all if they are all NRL bound. Just keep Mary away from the nurturing part.
So it tells me Zac should be told where his future lies at centre..not a stop gap until one of these young ones are ready. Why Mary has to publicly tell people Zac has 1st crack I dont understand or again is throwing Zac in there the easy decision for Mc85 without working too hard on Dufty and co and making a hard decision being a mate with a player....who knows!
For Round 1..Dufty or Sailor would still be in front for me
Thanks BLM01,
Appears to be possible exciting times ahead as far as the backs are concerned.
Lets all pray that they're given a proper coach to bring them through.
You're spot on imo re Zac.

We have unbelievable talent coming through all the grades but we need a coach who's willing to give him a go and knows how to bring them up to NRL standard. If we don't have these things it doesn't matter how much Talon is produced it will ultimately fail.

samy here is an easy one to start the new year for you to answer, how can the club be smart enough to recognize so much young talent and sign them for the furture yet not recognize the need for a coach.

McGregor and his team have not produced a single elite first grader from our junior ranks since he became head coach.

Euan Aitken was the first player he promoted and he’s now one of the worst centres in the comp.

Dufty, Field and Host have gone nowhere. Garrick, Sele, Herbert and now Luc have left to try their luck under another coach.

Lomax and Lawrie have a shot but they need the coach gone.

Surely this list of ruined careers under this bloke should be a pretty big clue that he needs to go.

Great post & spot-on.
I’d bleed for our juniors - love those kids

But now that I’m addicted to Netflix action movies I’ll give footy a miss till 2021 & leave McGoner & The Untouchables to the zimmerframers.

There’ll be more hits & scores on the box than with our predicted outfit in 2020

The coach must have some dirt on them or pictures. And the ridiculous thing about the not being able to pay him out is wrong

The counter argument Mc85 and his cronies in the media and board use is who he has turned from fringe into good or rep 1st graders so its the pathways fault for identifying juniors that are not good enough thus far under your correct assumptions.
McInnes, Vaughan, TSims, JDB, Frizz and strangely enough Euie (I beat a out of condition Inglis once and ran 10m to score) has become solid reps or knocking on the door under McNoIdea. Prior to him they were not or had been dropped in the case of Sims.
Apart from what Garrick has shown the others who have left are no loss. Luc may prove me wrong and Sele wants to come back.
But this huge current crop of juniors beckoning in the forwards and backs including Sailor (who does have a wrap on McExcuse) need a talented coach and Mary out of the picture for us to keep thwm and enhance their careers

its way past wrong mate. but what I was getting at some one at the club has the forsight to lock up all this young talent and im bloody sure its NOTmary

There is a team of people Millward is the one in charge.
They have talent scout is all over Australia also in a few places like Fiji and in England.
They may see someone and recommend them but still at the end of the day it's up to Millward to secure their signature.

McInnes, Vaughan and Tariq was more Millward than Mary. Good astute buys from players who had shown potential. These guys were all solid FG players before they came to us. It’s not like Mary taught them anything new,

The harder thing to do as a coach is to transition 19 and 20 year olds into solid FG players. Teach them how to mature their bodies to withstand the rigours of a full season, teach them how to be strong mentally etc and give them confidence.

This is where Mary and his mates have no clue.

We should be complementing our external recruits like Hunt, Norman, Graham etc with young flyers produced from within. But we have produced zero. Where have we produced a Ramien, Xerri, Joseph Manu, Papenhuyzen, Billy Smith, Dylan Brown etc.. These guys were all properly coached as they were coming through the grades and it shows.

And because we can’t produce from within, hence we end up with the Lafai’s Aitkens, Marantas, Pearsons and Ravalawas of the world.

Hopefully Lomax can be one added to your list of good production from within

Fester has a major ally at the club.....if not more than one. It's a conga line of back slappers
